Which means the only way to remove ECM from the DC is to essentially kill the mech. Been there, done that, it blows. ECM has little to no draw back, it should have to have a slot outside of the CT so people can actually remove it.

Its also why I put ECM in the Legs on TT. Thats were its the least likely to be hit!!! An important piece of equipment like an ECM should not be that easy for the enemy to destroy. That is just stupid! Putting it in a dedicated spot is just not using your brain.

The stalker does not have ECM.
Pretty much every single mech that mounts an ECM does so in a side torso, Atlas is just following the crowd.
Also if you're mounting enough LRMs in your LTorso to need all 12 crit slots I hate you and will gladly kill your atlas to prove how wrong you are for LRMboating in it.

The Atlas AFIK is the only mech that mounts the AMS on the arms. Wouldn't it make more sense then to have the ECM in one as well?
It would solve the problem of the LT missile space while still keeping the ECM in a viable spot to be shot off to eliminate it for others; heck, make it easier to get rid of actually.

Well unfortunately ECM is far from the spirit of Battle Tech itself and the spirit of mech creation (placing stuff where you want it), that it may be a lost cause at this point.
But then again, the prophets warned of these times.

My god! You have to make *gasp* a CHOICE *DUN DUN DAAAAA* when choosing an atlas now. Do you want to be an invisible brawler(DDC) sniper(RS) dubble LRM 20 boat(D) or jus bad (K)
All joking aside, I think this is good for Atlai. Now the DDC isn't outright netter at most things than the other variants

People would complain about the AC/20 as well.
Edit: Doesn't the AC/20 and the ECM fit there anyways?

Dude, It took a while but they added a HP for ECM. I have no problem with that. But for the love of all that's sacred, put id somewhere smart! And heavily protected. or at the very least, somewhere with fer weapon hard points. This placement was specifically to o the dumbest placement possible.

I just think it should be CT so it's not penalizing the mech on crit slots. Numerous things can be fit int he side torso, but nothing else the mech can carry* besides ammo (assuming the player isn't an ***** with SHS) can even fit in the CT. Nothing. So they're taking the mech with the tightest crit space requirements in the game, and the lowest likelihood of Endo/FF to make use of random crit space, and effectively removing 2 crit slots.
That's harsh, and there's no way it can be supported from a purely objective viewpoint.
[Edit]
(*ignoring BAP, since it's largely wasted tonnage/crits when combined with ECM)

Yes it can. It's been pointed out already that it's in a location that can be destroyed without having to destroy the entire mech to neutralize it.
