Do not buy the C4, do not buy the A1 (at least until they fix (S)SRMs) and do not spend MC on a non hero mech. Better buy premium.

Yep! Jazz JustWannaPlay was the first one to suggest it to me, though seeing it from you was what inspired me to say "Screw it, I'm bored, why not?"

Edit: Was JWP, not Jazz. Keep getting them confused. Aside from Jazz's "Break break" to clear the comms, they sound so similar. :)

Better than premium, buy some mechbays and set aside MC for sales. There's one for the fractal camo pattern. I'd snag some Cbill colors at some point, snag the pattern now, and eventually look pretty. But most importantly you will regret it if you don't have enough mechbays; there's too many mechs to go it with just 4 bays. There's also chatter (but it's unproven rumor at the moment) at the possibility of raising the price of mechbays.

At this point as you saw on my first post, I have 60 mechbays, so I'm way-past needing to care. But it stands to reason you might want to snag at least 8 before long, Whiskey.

XD lol i have told him before as well he should run his a1 like that and he said "there would be a lot of tears" never thought he would actually be making and using it

lol that cat sure does go through catnip like crazy though, doesn't carry much of it unfortunately

Btw, it carries about 1,080 missiles.

Actually a very good build.

My own runs 2 MPL (less time necessary to focus the beams = much more damage dealt to lights per attempt), 4 LRM-15 (lower tonnage than 4 LRM-20s to have more room for ammo and jumpjets). Beagle's a must as it extends your sensor range and can counter an ECM within 150 meters, allowing you to still get locks and fire those LRMs.

That`s hard, becasue it`s not bragging when you can back it up :)

Side note:the 4 of need to drop together in our Roflpults some time... the Forums will be flooded with so much LRM qq it`will be absolutely hilarious. :wub:

still not much catnip when you launch 1100 pounds of it every 4.25 seconds

also on a side note, firing all of you missiles all at once is more effective with narc because it wont be destroyed before all of the missiles hit, imo stalker lrm boats are silly, catapults trebuchets and awesomes FTW!!!!!!!

many other advantages to firing all of you missiles all at once

I didn't spend any money on mechs (except the flame) or premium (only using up now what I got with the founder package), so I agree. What's that about more expensive bays?

ROFL, in TT that thing would be nothing but an ammo explosion just waiting to happen, and eventhough it only has missiles for 2 volleys you could still make your head explode if you wanted to. :wub:

Good point, cats don`t tease you with a 10 minute launch time for a single volley, all or nothing, right now. :wub:

Seriously though, I`m glad that stalker doesn`t have 15-20 tubes /section, becasue then the Roflpult would be a lot less Rofl. :)

yep, although the 3h does have 20 tubes in each arm..... thankfully best it can do for only 1 volley is become a long bow

Ok since this is a thread about strengths of cats and why to get them i will now talk about the pros of launching all of your missiles at once

Pros:
Stealthier:Harder to notice an lrm user firing one *little* group of missiles over a ridge then one firing a long stream of them over a ridge
Easier to accurately dumb Fire if no lock due to things like ecm
More ams resistant, ams effectiveness is measured in missiles shot down per salvo, so the more salvos the more shot down, if one mech fires 40 missiles in a solid group each ams shoots down 5 missiles per barrage leaving 5 missiles shot down total and another fires 40 missiles in groups of 2 ams will shot down 5 missiles from each group leaving 10 total shot down, an entire team of dual ams mechs CAN NOT shoot down the entire group of 90 missiles fired by a roflpault, but they can shoot down 100 missiles fired in 2 groups

works better with narc: Narc is destroyed after the mech it is attached to takes 30 dmg and missiles that havent already hit it will loss the boost, but if all of those missiles hit at once they would have already hit when the narc is destroyed, not so when you use a stalker lrm boat, the first 30 will destroy the narc the the rest will be less effective

Needs Shorter Lock to get going in right direction: when missiles have a lock and are fired they will go to where that mech was even after the lock is lost so if the mech doesn't move they will still hit, but when you fire in multiple groups and the lock disappears half way during the time your firing the missiles half will just go were your aiming cursor was and hit the ground, also requires a shorter lock from scout to let all of the missiles to guide them selves to target and hit

Simply more instantaneous, imagine if your about to die from a damaged atlas that is also about to die, do you want 5 groups of ten missiles to hit him or do you want one group of 30 hitting him so he dies first, also allows the lrm user to get back behind cover faster

Cons: none at all (seriously) it is said smaller tube count means smaller groups that are more accurate and tend to only hit the ct, but thats arguable
