^^ this^^ and PGI asked for it when they tried to NERF the forums. I've been here since very early in closed BETA and so many threads and topics where the DEVS stated what they were going to do and how they were going to do it have just simply disapeared. Add to that how they continue to do things and go places that they swore they wouldn't go, their moving at a glacial pace on the simple things and the rage grows. Now lets Cap it off with the 3rd person view disaster. They put their as.s in a sling on that one all on their own and now they have to decide which part of the playerbase they are going to insult and drive off. Yes the nerds are raging but not without reason. When you have been here for 12 months post again and tell us if you still feel the same

I've been here since shortly before open beta and think the community is a bunch of worthless whiny idiots with insane expectations.

This game is really fun for me, I still log on everyday, play an average of 15 games and I enjoy the hell out of it. The amount of QQ on the forums and the level of entitlement on the balance board is ridiculous and downright toxic.

I started playing about 2 months ago and have about 1500 games played and I don't think there is any build out there that is blatantly op/unfair/unkillable. (95% of my games are hunchie or dragon so I don't even run supposed "cheese builds") In my opinion the game is not as completely broken/unplayable/everyone is quitting tomorrow as people on this forum make it seem.

Every other thread is people complaining about nerf this or buff this, or people proposing overly complicated mechanic "fixes" that are extremely unlikely to be implemented. I think PGI has been doing a good job balancing the game, for example the recent MG/flamer/LRM changes have put all of those weapons in a very good place. As others have been stating its the complainers that cause developers to over-react by excessively crying over stuff that does not need to be fixed. Gameplay balance patches twice a month is a more than generous update schedule. Proposing unrealistic solutions to simple problems doesn't help anyone nor do exaggerated "game sucks, everyone is quitting" type of complaints.

For example: things that I think would improve the state of balance (in my opinion), is:
Increase PPC heat 30%, implement the overheat damage and slight damage buff to SRMs

But even if they didn't do that the current meta is playable and nothing is game-breaking and the sky is not falling.

Basically, what I am saying is:
A simple fix is much better than overhauling the whole system or adding whole new systems with hosts of unforeseen consequences, and please try to give helpful constructive criticism instead of throwing tantrums saying you will quit unless X happens.

I really wish people would keep this in mind, before QQing about whatever their pet complaint is.

Anyone else here feel the same?

WOW good for you that you started 2 months ago.AMAZING! You know what, I started a year ago in closed and the amount of content released and at the rate of it being released is the reason for all the qq. Reason people are qq-ing more and more is because of the trend PGI is taking at the moment, which is getting worst and worst.

Like you said you've been here 2 months, your NOT entitled to qq at this point. I feel everyone who paid for the founders and played for more than a year to see all their hopes of what was promised thrown away are ENTITLED to some amount of qq-ing.

Like someone posted before, if you go to the restaurant and pay for a hamburger and fries and you get served soup, your obviously gonna say something.

Not to mention we have been testing their game for free. So yeah Q ******* Q

is it unrealistic to ask them to do research before tuning up the already underused LPL heat?

I think it's good your enjoying the game, and you should keep doing so as long as you can.

I think I probably got my money's worth of entertainment out of M:WO, and there is still some fun to be had. But it could be so much more, and often it is not so much more because the devs are just making the wrong move.

I might have gotten my money's worth of entertainment, but I would love to feel that the game be worth even more than that, because then I would have a reason to spend more, too.

I hope one day you can look back at this post and realize how misguided it is. Your level of entitlement is obviously over 9000.

I can only wonder how you (would have) reacted if you played video games in an era where they just, you know, launched the game, you bought it sight unseen (unless you rented it first), and just dealt with the crazy **** the developers balanced/put into the game.

Fast forward to today, and instead of a large contingent of level-headed, mid-aged men and women discussing their concerns and outlining their solutions to problems (something we should all be pretty well skilled in by now), people hurl accusations at one another and the company developing the game they claim to love so much.

The point is - rather than calling people 'PGI Defense Force', or 'White Knights', offer proactive and constructive advice rather than making posts like 'THIS GAME IS **** ON WHEELS'. There's more than one way to skin a cat, as they saying goes, and this community is absolutely toxic, like a bunch of kids who know something they can complain about is coming down the pipes, so they can bicker with one another over the internet like a bunch of 'intellectuals'.

TL/DR; It's a ******* free game guys. Why do we need to get ugly over it?

Case in point - they stated explicitly that they did so in order to normalize pulse laser heat, ostensibly for datamining purposes in anticipation of a much larger weapon balancing pass, said to occur in the next month or so.

Its great if the OP is having fun, or anyone really.

Not everyone is complaining though. There are definitely SOLID suggestions on the forum. And I don't consider suggestions complaining.

You actually believe that pile of horse sh*t they feed you? Please. When general discussion was removed because of "negative feedback", then brought back with "Suggestion" sub-forums, it was to keep you thinking you had a voice. You don't. I don't fall victim to any of it. This game is going their way and it's completely non-negotiable.

EDIT: Here's an example: Was it at all suggested or advised that they should implement siesmic senor? Was it suggested or advised to implement flush coolant? Third person view? No, right? So what contructive advice can we offer where they give a sh*t?

I just wish they would have been upfront about it and not hand feed us BS. Would have saved us a lot of trouble.

So my question is... why are you still here?

I don't get these anti-MWO, anti-PGI people that hang around here as poisonous elements of the community. If you honestly believe the evil empire that is PGI is out to destroy our ideas and force us to play a terrible game, why do you continue to participate in the community?

Your response is expected, and hypocritical, to say the least.

Complainers say it over and over. It's even mentioned several times on this page. We're here because of hope. It could be much better.

Gotta be honest I played 1 round with the Quickdraw last night in 8mans and it was a lot of fun, only game I've played with it so far.

And I almost don't want to log in and start playing them for fear of burning out on the potential enjoyment too quick. Tryin hard to have some discipline but it looks so funnnnnnnnnn

The people who relentlessly harp on this game seem to be the least hopeful of all of us. Why not save themselves the grief and come back when the game starts CW?

I know I shouldn't care anymore. I haven't been playing much to be honest. If this game wasn't called "MechWarrior", I would have been gone so quick. But call me passionate. I however, stick around here in the forums because white knights such as yourself are attacking the QQ-ers that also needs backing up with our own experience of how this game became a massive bait and switch.

And what part of it has been 'bait and switch'?
Do you not have Battletech branded robots with Battletech branded weapons in the Battletech universe with Battletech factions that can blow each other up rather spectacularly?

That's about all that's been promised (if indeed they did promise anything). Community Warfare, sure. But that's still coming. I've been here since day -1, and never gotten the feeling they really did anything against something I felt was guaranteed. This whole game has been a crapshoot from the beginning, and I've been crossing my fingers the entire time. Just becasue it didn't work out to my exact vision doesn't mean I dislike it.

By the way, save your 'White Knight' 5th grade namecalling for someone who might actually deserve it. I don't get into personal attacks on people's stances (since, as an opinion it is obviously a subjective point of view and therefore cannot be objectively judged), so please refrain from doing so to me - I have never, nor will ever back anything 100%. Life consists of shades of grey, nothing is black and white. You'd do well to remember that, friend.

Been in since like May 5th last year. I became a Legendary Founder based on what I read about their plans, and what I experienced up to that point in CBT and my desire to see a new Mechwarrior game.

It was obvious early on that the table top loyalist were wiling to go to great lengths and is still obvious to force the devs to make the game THEY want and not what was feasible and planned by the devs. Tabletoppers want a 1:1 copy of what they played rolling 20 sided dice, and the video gamers want what they've been playing, but better, improved with todays technology. Thus you have a blend of two different mediums and both sides feel their arguments are just.

So now you have people that could give some really good insight and opinions that refuse to even come here because of the spoil child attitude around here.

I Say quit making demands, and drop allexpectations. Let the Devs make the game they envisioned and let the cards lay where they land..

Ok if your gonna spew out garbage like this you need to go read some of the earlier post when closed beta was around on what their vision was and what they promised us and said what they would NEVER DO. Its not our job to enlighten your ignorance on these subjects.

Seriously you need to read up cuz your wasting our time or just trolling

smh...

Really? It's my job to decipher what it is about this game that you feel was misrepresented... Just proving my point, brother.

The only things I can think off the top of my head are coolant and 3PV - coolant has done almost nothing to affect the balance of the game, and 3PV hasn't been said to expand beyond the training grounds as of now.

I've done nothing but speak rationally and unemotionally in this thread man... why are you getting so mad?

EDIT: Just realized this got pushed to K-Town... I'm done here.

Firstly i'm not mad, second this isn't what i "feel", its what "is". They lied to us, and its more than just 3PV and consumables.

Read up buddy
