Let's all calm down folks.

I knew several Goons from my time in EVE and most of them are decent folks. You will get immature kids no matter what name you wear so lets not all run around screaming that the sky is falling.

In regards to "1 post throw away" accounts. If that does begin to happen then PGI has ways of dealing with that.

... the fact that not Liao is acquisitioning a powerful, loyal fighting force, but is instead acquisitioned by a bunch of people who can't even tell what does a C-Bill mean without looking it up, try to ruin everyones fun and oppose the developers thinking they are something better and slander someone behind his back without having the courage to at least tell it to him personally.

Seems like most most of the us are willing to give them a chance (not that they need our permission) but i would prefer a united Capellan effort.
At least almost all the Capellan posts besides Adridos's (who's job is to pick apart any possible threat to the Capellan Confederation so give him some slack he's just overly loyal) are open minded.

I know you are mad Adridos at the action of Goonswarm on the mmo known as EVE but this isn't EVE. If you would like to know how Goons would as act please look at a video game called World of Tanks. Goons have acted rather well there and have accumulated alot of good will there. Because Goonswarm and Goons are really two differant groups.

Yes, he did! I thought for a moment I should post an equally old picture that shows a nearly eradicated federated suns, but decided against it. Didn't want to destroy his delusions. Poor guy!

Oh, do it. I have such pleasant memories of seeing an Inner Sphere without the Federated Suns, it'll give me a nostalgia-gasm.

Indeed, but those guys don't play by the rules.

They will keep everything to themselves and exclude everyone else from it. Also, I still wonder what are they inteding to do, since teh house players have no real say in where to strike.

Just sounding off as a non-goon EvE player. Honestly, I've never had trouble with the Goons. Granted, I'm not stupid enough to fly into their space, or needlessly antagonize an alliance several thousand members strong, and when I find out they're blowing up peoples ships I play it safe and don't just fly an unarmored mining ship. People get scared of them because they're willing to play hard, they work together, and they don't follow rules that other players try to impose on them (ie. space bushido). If you play the game seriously and learn from your mistakes you'll get along just fine (assuming you're thick skinned). If you play by made up rules and expect other people to follow them to, the Goons will waste you (hey, just like real life!). Yes they can be douchebags, but if you think a free-to-pay competitve multiplayer won't already have loads of those then you've got worse problems.

Yes, I'm another noob with little actual direct experience, but that's something I share with all the idiots posting paranoid anti-Goon rants based on rumors they heard.

Holy crap you're a cute newbie. :shobon:

I assume a C-Bill is money in this setting? I got introduced to the Battletech Universe all of 2 days ago because I have a friend who's really looking forward to this game who talked me into trying it. Am I ruining your fun too? This game is for more people then the ones who have been playing Mechwarrior since the 90s. I think elitism is a lot more harmful for this community then any forum group.

After actaully reading through the rest of the posts i came to realize that the goons are quite adept at troll control. O.o Maybe we should keep them just to trol the other factions *cough*FedSuns*cough*

I just mean none of us actually know eachother so we're only hurting ourselves by getting mad before the game even starts.

Proper mentality is for the better of the State rather than any one individual, even the Chancellor is supposed to have this mentality.

When you said that we don't play by the rules.

Well son, Liao makes the rules 'round these parts. Maybe you're just not loyal enough to know that.

That is most unfortunate Adridos, you see The Word of Lowtax will be heard, and it will be spread and it will be accepted.
Woe to those who dare resist The Word, for The Word is truth and enlightenment and freedom.
Most importantly of all, The Word fights for you.

SA needs to start discussing how to become the Word of Blake in Mechwarrior Online, because it'd be hilarious.
