Nope, no way am i worried about goons...and i'd welcome them to try..i believe they'd get squashed by the real players in this game..the true mechwarriors
Said this already, but goons tend to win because of coordination rather than just swarming. I've been in BLOPS games where we've decided as a team to all take the M60 with big ammo and NEVER STOP FIRING which we've still won because we've a) capped the objectives while the opposing team was kill hunting and played as an actual team that helped each other out. Strength of numbers is not the only gimmick here.
Although I wish I'd played Eve now, as how angry some people apparently are about what happened there is fantastic.
Also, I hope it's going to be possible to put a toothbrush moustache on my Atlas - if we're being compared to Hitler we may as well look the part.

Yes, he did! I thought for a moment I should post an equally old picture that shows a nearly eradicated federated suns, but decided against it. Didn't want to destroy his delusions. Poor guy!

This is the part of Goon psychology that so many people fail to understand, to their ultimate undoing. You guys feed on the tears and impotent rage of the sore loser, the overbearing roleplayer, and the incompetent. It's like some kind of depressing Greek tragedy; if they would just not give you guys the satisfaction you wouldn't prey on them so remorselessly.

This is the part I don't think others "get". The ability to co-ordinate 9000+ members, to motivate them and keep them going *IS* going to translate over to MW:O very well, thank you!
It has been my experience that zerging will only get you so far. Goons would *NOT* be so good at EO if all they did was "zerg rush" to the last man. They are a large, diverse community with a metric ****-tonne of organizational ability. Since MW:O is going to (HOPEFULLY) encompass "role" warfare, expect hard fights against 10bux or whatever they are calling themselves here. Just because they have a reputation for fighting "en mass" that doesn't mean they don't have people capable of fighting with tactical and strategic awareness. Thinking that way will do more to ensure *their* victories than "yours"...

That might be the case but remember that each of them have to defend their planets individually, players from other goon swarm merc units wont be able to rush to their side to help protect their planets. In EVE if you attack one of their stations you have to deal with the entire swarm, here? Its still only 12 guys.
Means its still 12 of them vs 12 of someone elses merc unit.
Thats also the reason why we will see many many smaller merc factions be able to keep/defend their planets successfull.. its not like this is an exclusive goon thing.
And honestly if they are good enough players then why the hell not? As long as they dont cheat in any way or form its fair game. Besides, since mercs will quasi fight for their choosen factions the goonswarm will have more enemys then they could ever have in eve striking at all fronts and everytime its 12 vs 12.
Plus they will also have to deal with house players from rival factions. If they can hold off that many people.. well congrats.
I think thats pretty fair in the end.

Also so many people who've never met a goon posting negatively, shame on you! Since when do you base your decisions and views on heresay? I played EVE for 8 years now and fought both against and with the goons (the Delve invasion was the best dispite the lag, singing FCs and constant fun). I would have joined them if I hadn't been a pubbie (never bothered with an SA account). And the zerging myth again, have you met a recent goon fleet? You know once their pilots caught up in SP terms any zerging going on was because they could, not because they had to.
They have a superb community going, they're always game for a fight and they'll happily do anything which might give them an edge - perfect fit for the CC in my opinion. I'd love to see mittens and the gang in here.
If you're all serious about honour and bushido stuff, you might want to switch to the kuri's cos you don't belong here.

They aren't fit for the CC, because they are a closed community. Maskirovka executes people like that every day.
