They aren't fit for the CC, because they are a closed community. Maskirovka executes people like that every day. :)

How do you know they aren't a new secret organisation directly controlled by the chancellor? So Liao-like 8)

this whole topic is standard goons metagame warfare right?

I suspect it will be very soon yes.

btw in case none of you realized it, they're probably laughing at you/us/everything behind your backs already

it's sort of what they do

"Behind your backs," nothing. You all realize SA is an open forum, right? You can go over there right now and read the MWO thread. You only have to cough up the $10 to post, reading is free.

Well, it may be open, but it's not HERE, so it's pretty much behind peoples' backs. You know, kind of like like laughing at fat kids while you're in a gym.

"Behind someone's back" relies upon it being a secret. If our forums are not secret, this makes it impossible to be going "behind someone's back" in discussions elsewhere. I guess you'll say even if we're using our own TS server we may be conspiring behind everyone's back, and not being part of the community. Wait, are sub-channels too exclusive too?

This is the internet. Geography/geometry doesn't apply; everywhere is "here." It would take you ten seconds to get to that thread. I could link to it directly, but I know that if I don't, sheer laziness and inertia will keep 95% of people from seeking it out, so....

Nahhh, the best possible outcome from your perspective is if people in this thread start quoting the posts at SA that quote posts from here to make fun of them, and start complaining about them. Sort of an Ouroboros of sadness and derision.

I don't know man, gyms aren't very secret either. I mean, it's not like the people being laughed at, presumably including me, would be hanging around your forums all day when they're already nerding up this dump.

THIS IS THE INTERNET. LEARN TO INTERNET?? YOU DON'T KNOW *HOW* THE INTERNET. ARE YOU AN INTERNET? NO, SHUT UP, NOT THE INTERNET. INTERNET.

Not worth the effort, man. I'm playing F2P browser games here, if I open more tabs the burrito I use for a computer might start exploding.

*shrug* I dunno, you seemed to be making an argument that relied on aspects of the space-time continuum that don't really apply online. It seemed appropriate to point that out.

Good luck with the browser workload management, anyway!

*Popcorn*

Seriously though, while I'm not a huge fan of the SA (or any similar community), I could care less that they'll play MWO. Just another group. I'm sure there will be non-Goon units that we'll all hate more.

How dense can pubs be when they think that just because goons used "zerg" tactics in an online game 6 years ago (as there was no other choice) that we would do the same in MWO. Seriously you guys are delusional.

Goons are going to be playing this game in numbers from day one, meaning that you aren't going to ever be dropping against 12 dumb noobs in bad mechs, you are going to be dropping against 12 Goons with the same (if not better) mechs as you with all the advantages our superior organization could possibly give them.

Your strategies are going to be futile, because we already thought of them and developed counters. Your mech builds will be crushed, because we have developed better. You will rejoin your clan's TS lobby (I'm giving you enormous credit here to assume you even have voice comms) to find that all your other drops aganst goons have ended the same way, in tears chased by our mocking laughter.

Also if you think that goons would go clan (save as spies) then you have fundamentally misunderstood what goons are all about. :)

I'll laugh openly here if it helps anyone. Though I'll be laughing at the 10% of the thread that:

Thinks they are actually a Capellan
Is angry about their space spreadsheet game
Is preemptively angry about their space robot game
Posts a response explaining why someone is wrong to call a mech a robot

The other 90% of you going "hey, let's play space robots!" seem like normal human beings.

Ha ha ha ha ha!

There.

I played eve for about 2.5 years. The goons were allies of my crappy alliance I was in. I will say this about the goons.

1. They are dedicated bunch of misfits who have many with no morals outside of the fact that they go with the swarm to have fun.
2. If they don't have fun, they make fun. Kill the fleet leader (saw that once, hillarious).
3. They are a big blob of a team. When numbers do matter they bring numbers.

I don't mind them one bit wanting to play this or any other game. I'd be happy to have some of them on my side and just as happy to school them in the ways of BT when the situation lets me do so.

So stop whining about the Goons.

You and I are not going to stop them from doing what they want to do, that is until we are on the battlefield in mechs. I urge you to be on team speak with your peeps if you choose to engage a lance of goons. They will be on teamspeak and will beat you 4 vs 1 if they get the chance.

Until such time, good luck everyone and good hunting.

So it's right to call a Goon an a-hole. Did I get it right? It's the same as with mech/robot. :)

Seriously, you are here for a few hours and you already made bad image for yourselves. Really mature of you. <_<

You won't have any row boats because the goons will have tricked dumb pubs into transfering them all to goon held planets before we stab them in the back. Though really its more like seeing a colorful rain forest frog and thinking it's skittle flavored and not neurotoxin flavored. ITS YOUR FAULT.

You can call me a name if you like, based on what I've posted. I don't know that it's reasonable to call everyone under the Goon umbrella that though. Man, we should totally get umbrellas. Green umbrellas with "GOON" on them.

Personally, I'm glad goons are going Liao. It would have been one of the least populous factions, and now maybe it will have some life breathed into it. Makes things more interesting.
