Yeah when you've had enough crack. But that's up to you. $80 every six months or even $120 every six months is a cheap hobby.

Me I'm still having a blast so pass that dutchie on the left hand side.

Except that's not all you buy, is it? That premium time isn't going to last you six months, and that hero victor is going to look so tempting. These prices are this high because you always buy and we never do. There is a middle ground here where our priorities overlap, and it's no where near 80 dollars. It's just too bad PGI can't risk losing you to gain us.

Not to be too much of a d!ck, or to belabour a point, but is there a chance that we can see the scale to these 'Mechs before we commit to preordering?

There aren't enough of you to keep the game viable, there are enough of us.

It's kind of hard to judge the value of the package based on the current game. So many issues remain and have been getting continually worse:

- no semblance of high level league play or any hope of becoming a competitive ESL game
- no logical balancing of weapons or re-fixing of the brawling meta to counter the 2 month long ppc meta
- tacky, cheesy, nausea-inducing jumpjet shake
- matchmaking resulting in extremely not "fun" play with bad players
- penalize you if you have good ping netcode
- penalize you if you have bad ping netcode
- implementation of a despised third-person view
- lack of open and bilateral communication with player community

Do you take the plunge or wait and see?

Such a shame.

I do market design and social media marketing for a company that pulls in several hundred mil annually. I've worked in game design in the past. I know what I'm talking about and I can afford this goofy little deal. You are bad with your money, you are rewarding a company for exploiting you and you're mocking ME. You're the joke here. You want to buy really heavilly cut crack for wildly inflated prices? Go ahead. That doesn't mean you aren't bad with your money. You got fleeced on founders, you're getting fleeced here. People like you are specifically why this is all so expensive, and why they aren't attempting to reach a broad audience with a balanced, feature filled game. As long as you're here they can pump out exclusives, wildly overcharge, and you'll eat it up.

Don't talk down to me because I have common sense, and don't make assumptions about me or other people concerning the size of our wallets.

You're still going on about it. Give it a rest, i don't care if you're Warren f'n Bufffet.
Your opinion means less that the hot air that it comes with.

Seriously only someone that can't afford this will only complain this loud about it. Which you've admitted is too expensive for you. Well I've said it before and say it again - sucks to be you.

If you can and buy it, good for you. If you can but won't out of principle, good for you. No-one really cares what you do.

The only reason to whine on and on about it is to drag everyone else down to your level of misery just cos you cant have the package.

Plus I talk down to you cos you're an *** that talks down to everyone else. Seems to be the main form of communication for you. But even then you haven't got the message - IT'S MY MONEY. IT'S NOT COMING OUT OF YOUR POCKET. I CAN DO WHAT I PLEASE WITH IT.

I can see the writing on the wall already. Buy this package, buy another package for clan mechs, buy a package for CW. Founders will be in for some serious cash if they get all the packages coming down the line. At some point, you just gotta lay down the crack pipe and say "no more".

It is not so bad, cheaper than drugs, cheaper than a bar, cheaper than a mistress, or a fast car...

Dude, I do not doubt that you get things done in real life, but don't stress out whether people waste their money or not. The cost is relative to the demand.

Third person view is coming out, this will split the player base
12V12 is coming out, this will split the player base
EU servers are coming out, this will split the player base

How dam hard will it be to find a 12v12 first person game on the EU servers for example ?

I think you guys are supporting a doomed game, having said that i do want the deal myself but i cant justify spending the money. Every one has there gripe with this and that, mostly relating to technical or ballance issues. Mine however is the lazily implemented jj "fix" that clearly makes alot of players ill. Ignoring this for as long as PGI have has made me want to give nothing more than the crazy amount of $220 i have already spent. The millions PGI have made for an unfinished game is enough for them to improve it way beyond the state its in now.

The Last Of Us is a £40 ~ $60 game just to put things in perspective to all those blinded by the shiney "deal" thats being waved in front of your eyes.

why would 3rd person make it harder to find a game? it would just be a function like night vision and I would think it would only be over the shoulder, so it wouldn't be an unfair advantage.

god complaining that you feel shafted because this is a better deal then the founders package you bout is ridicules, you wouldn't go into a shop and complain if you bout a game that was on sale then they advertised that the same game was selling for the same price with its expansions, its just bad luck and in this case you don't even need to buy it you can choose to get the stranded mechs for C bills and use yore founders mech to raise the cash.

So lets see if got this right...
People are complaining that PGI made a sale that you can choose or NOT to buy, because they:
Want to make money!!!!
Damm right they do, they are a company that means to produce a Game AND make PROFIT out of it!!

Now if someone thinks that the sale ins't worth it guess what? just dont buy it!!!
Its a sale for PGI to make money of people that want to buy it ... I mean F2P means you can play the game for free BUT some optional stuff cost money.

ya youre right the game has its problems and PGI sure does take its time to develop MWO, but still if you think its a bad deal just dont buy it.

Personally i think its a pretty good deal if think about it, i mean 4 Hero Mechs+ 90 days premium time+ 12 mech bays thats more than worth it in MC's i guess.

:)

That's 4 Unique Mechs with slightly different model looks than the ones that will be on sale later ( Just like Founder's Mech. ie : Founders Catapult has a sharp pointed nose ) , presumably after 14th Oct 2013 , 8 Additional mechs , 2 for each class . 12 Mech Bays house them , 120 days premium time if you pre-order before the 25th July 2013 , choose 4 different type of House medals .

They've mentioned it a number of times that 3PV can only play against 3PV and vice versa. For example, the latest Ask the Devs: http://mwomercs.com/...vs-40-answered/

Seriously he is right, check the official threads/posts under Ask the Devs / Command Chair / Announcements forums.

First I would like to say, this is a nice deal. Pretty much the same as the founders package with better premium bonus's and without the MC packages. Anybody that missed out on the founders deal should pick this up and it's likely many founders will pick it up as well. However, as nice as new mechs are the path that seems to be in place here is that PGI is more focused on developing and releasing new content that will make them some more money then fixing bugs/developing gameplay for this game.

Normally that would be fine but I thought the point of a beta was to finetune the game before releasing it. Usually that involves fixing bugs as a priority and developing/adding new things to be tested out (like community warfare). Lately there has been more bug fixes however I believe if PGI spent more time on community warfare and stuff like it as well as bug fixes at the start then releasing new mechs and premium items we would have been out of BETA by now, playing a refined community warfare and THEN looking forward to new mechs and premium stuff.

This has been a very long beta and players are starting to lose all interest in the game and releasing new mechs and packages like this won't prevent that. I bought your package, as I did with the founders. Please use this money to progress bug fixes, working on community warfare and additional gamemodes. It's what this game needs right now more then new mechs. Just my opinion, don't get all pissy at me if you have a different opinion.

Simple solution, They fire half of the mech designers, then hire some more coders to fix the netcode, then once the game is more stable they can look at rehiring designer to work on fluff again, keeping the additional coders to keep expanding the game from that point on.
