Yikes! I must get this! I'd love to get a Battlemaster, one of my favorite assault 'mechs

My favorite Assault Mech is already in the game, the Highlander. Not sure if I want all 4 or if I stick to 3 of them but the 10% Loyalty for the Phoenix version is nice. Also, I like the Orion over the Thunderbolt though it's a nice mech still. Sigh, decisions, decisions.

I have to spend $80 if all I want is the Battlemaster?

Or you can wait until January for the standard Battlemaster variant.

Seeing the "Order Complete" text appear gave me a bit of a nerdgasm. I couldn't have been more surprised - and thrilled at the news!

Stale game since about 8 months (we probably got like 3 new maps since this game went "open beta"), yet more Mechs to buy for real money to play on the ever same 5 maps with the ever same people with the ever same bad matchmaker (and no chance to actually play competitively). Not even talking about bugs and balance issues.

Also "nice" to see that THOSE Mechs actually have MORE (and better) benefits than the founders Mechs too. (<- that was irony)

Looking forward for the next official "tourney" (Phoenix-Tourney anyone?!?), which turns the players into even MORE brainless zombies!

Just out of curiosity: how many PPCs can we stick into the Battlemaster? If it's more than 6 I'd be down. o_O (<- now kids, thats sarcasm)

Brilliant! I was really not expecting this, proper original mechs!

Definitely going for this because it finally gives me some hope of eventually seeing (although probably funding) the Rifleman, Marauder, and Warhammer.

Happy days (just not for my credit card!)

Look awesome. Great. Now take the money I'm giving you for these and fix the team game please (i.e. add more incentive to work as a team and win)...or just make it FFA so people can just play like they're already playing and it won't matter.

kthxbye

Oh, too bad for you that I am atm not in the mood to buy one of these packages. Those mechs are nothing worth before this game really evolves. It's up to you PGI to show us this game will be much more than what we have now. It has the potential ...

Although I can seem like a Grumpy Gus at times, I think that I can swing $20 a mech + premium time and mech bays. Hell it's a better deal than my Founder's package AND the boosts are higher. I'll bite, but I really hope that they are not all jacked up size wise.

So basically, I buy the 15€ Talon pack, get 8-10€ worth of Premium time AND a "founder" Light mech (custom design +30% C-Bills AND +10% faction rep boost) AND 2 standard versions AND 3 mech bays for them (so if a variant sucks I'll sell it after mastering it and get a free 300MC mech bay) AND get those forum icon/title goodies?

So gonna buy this. The "Phoenix" might suck with his hardpoints but I'm pretty sure that the 2 standard versions will be more laser heavy. For 5€ that's still a steal.
Not sure if the other packages are worth it (twice the cash for a mech which you'll be able to buy with C-Bills ('xcept the phoenix mech bonus), a medalion that's identical with the 500MC item and minimalistic +2.5 Rep bonus and the same time of free premium time).

I have some mixed feelings here...

On one hand it's awesome to see PGI go the extra mile and work on the reseen, not to mention the opportunity to buy another round of 'premium' mechs for the people who missed out on founders. It's also nice to recieve a sliver of information about the CW system, although indirectly. These packages also seem way more bang-for-your-buck than the founders in pure game assets.

On the other hand however, why do I need to spend $60-80 just because I chose heavy and assault mechs from the moment I bought my Atlas founders package? There is no good reason PGI can't allow people to chose their mechs like with the founders package. Unless of course they want to admit their role warfare pillar isn't working like they'd want...

I'll hold off my purchase untill at least the Battlemaster has been revealed and maybe PGI supplies us with some feedback.

While it is encouraging to see surprises like these, this does seem like a ham-handed attempt to garner more sales. One could speculate on many factors, but that will get you nowhere.

if the game wasn't in such a crap state i would have droped 80 bucks in a heart beat. but u know PGI doesn't have their crap together. so 80 bucks in my wallet.

I completely agree. I will wait it out and see if there are any improvements in July that would encourage me to spend more money on this game. Sadly, the current trajectory does not look terribly favorable. This is unfortunate, because I would want to spend my money on this game, if it looked [to me] like they were on a sustainable path. There have been too many factors that make my support for this game waver. The laundry list is not uncommon, from what I have gathered while lurking the forums.

It is rather enticing but until hit detection is fixed i think i will just manage with the mechs i already have. Especially seeing that the profits from this game get spread to 3 different games in lieu of just this one.
