I saw this in one of the previously active posts that got swept aside by Project Phoenix talk. I can't stress how concerned I am that if things continue along their present course, we'll have nothing but PPC + Gauss Shadowhawks to show for the whole thing - eventually leading to PPC + Gauss Battlemasters.
So who is right here? Does slash have legitimate reason to say that the game has serious issues right now from the "mainland" or is he all alone in his opinion on an "island" that Russ suggests he is? i.e. does MWO have serious, serious balance problems (As talked about at great length in my other thread here), or is this really the best the game has ever been?
I'll tell you right now, I find the response given to him to be both entirely out of touch and also a little condescending, in particular if you look at the general polls & feedback. PGI->Community relations are currently holding within a percent of 72% negative in my last thread and many people are extremely concerned about the way we're going in lots of ways.
Sorry to call out a specific tweet, but this actually made me a little upset that someone who's got legitimate concerns would be blown off like this and that a dev doesn't see the serious problems we have right now.
This talk shouldn't get lost in all the temporary Project Phoenix commentary, again, because otherwise all the new 'mechs will be are more snipers for the sniper grinder.
EDIT: Also I am not endorsing rage quitting the game, but I find this response to serious concerns disappointing to say the least. Also I in no way believe the game is in the best shape ever, because it was honestly more fun to play several months ago, before many guns were "fixed" because at least you had viable roles beyond snipers.
