Nicely edited. Where am I trying to shame people who want to play 3rd person, hmm? Would you like me to summarise the main points of the post you have so obviously missed?

I'll keep it short for your limited literacy:

"I don't have a problem with 3PV as part of a well rounded MechWarrior experience. This amended view comes from other rational points raised by some of its proponents".

"I do have a problem with language being used to introduce 3PV to the game in a way that suggests 1PV is no longer MechWarriors primary focus, and that it is only the mode people who are described as 'simheads' are likely to want to play. I do realise that this impression may not be the intended one, and my concerns could become unfounded".

Now, I realise I used some long words in there, but I'm sure with Googles help you'll be able to understand their meaning.

For info, this post is what an insult looks like. Learn to know the difference.

You know, for someone who claims to be literate and others to not, you should really learn to read. Where did I direct that post to you, and not the question and community as a whole? Strike a nerve?

And if that's what you consider an insult you must have gotten bullied pretty hard in school.

More minimum viable answers for a minimum viable product. ;)
PGI isn't even phoning it in anymore, they just quit all together.

Slide: Are the continual delays and lack of fixes to net code for example, caused by deep seated issues within the Cryengine architecture? If so, why is there no support from the Cryengine developers the same as any other paying customer would get from a supplier?
A: I’m not sure exactly what net code delays you are speaking of. We’ve introduce a series of major changes over the last 4 months that fall all contributed to better performance all around. There can/will always be edge cases where performance may suffer. A lot of them are out of our control, player hardware, state of the global network, weather, etc..

pretty sure he was mentioning the GARBAGE HIT DETECTION that STILL isn't fixed even after the supposed ping hotfix that did NOTHING....just for clarification

Most likely it is due to ping. Like any shooter, since the dawn of networked shooters, if all else is equal, the player with the lowest ping wins.

I average 40ms ping on a 50/25 mbps fiber connection and I've had shots not register even when I hit someone square in the chest from 100-150m. If that's not a best case scenario, I don't know what is.

And besides, it's useless to try to explain to you because you refuse to see it. The reasoning has been brought up several times in this thread. And besides, we're getting it whether we want it or not.

I average about 120ms ping during a game and the only mechs that seem like my shots do not register on are Ravens and that is most likely do to their messed up hitboxes.

I experience this currently with my Commandos and strangely it seems to occur most (anecdotal obviously) when being hit with a PPC from the rear. This is not an 'always' scenario but I often take damage while getting no physical indication of it (other than paperdoll) when being hit in the back by a PPC. I usually have a ping of 60 but it has been at 90-100 for the last few weeks.

I've had an Atlas in front of me around 150meter and hit him square in the chest with a PPC and got the red crosshair and no damage registered. I've had it happen A LOT more with faster mechs that are on the move of course, but there's something there that's causing it other than lag. I didn't look at whoever I was shooting at's ping at the time but, It's supposed to be a server authoritative architecture, so his ping really shouldn't matter as it's the server's simulation that counts as far as hit detection is concerned.

Refuse to see what? The significance of a mode name that has no bearing on the game whatsoever? Why the lot of you need to ****, *****, and moan about every little thing that PGI does, then wonder why their communication is vague and nondescript? That you have your panties in such a tight wad that it's slowly gaining enough pressure to become a black hole?

Usually when someone quotes someone elses post, they do it to comment on something that they've said. Like you did just now, like you did originally, and like I have done here.

A stream of profanity, calling people "incessant whiners", "morons" or "Basement dwelling 30 year olds" isn't insulting? Maybe it's not in your trailer park, but here in the civilised world, it sure is.

Maybe if you had more of an understanding of basic english, you could understand why people have these concerns.

There are a few reasons people don't want third-person perspective. First, and foremost, it destroys the concept of being a MechWarrior. You're no longer in your mech - you're watching it.

Further, you destroy concepts like "line of sight" and scouting. You can see over ridge-lines and around corners.

Whether it was in previous MechWarrior games, or not, is irrelevant to the fact that it destroys crucial concepts of the game (having to put your mech in jeopardy to gain information) and detracts from immersion.

If you want to allow people to do it in the training grounds or testing grounds to help them figure out the simple concept of "I can look one direction and walk another" - then whatever. But there's simply too much potential for abuse of basic concepts of combat due to the "disembodied camera."

Ask the Devs #41

3PV
Vasces Diablo: Is it possible to rename the view modes? Specifically "Training" for 3PV and "Normal" for 1PV. It's semantics, true, but a portion of the community feels it's an important distinction. 1st person has been the "normal" view in earlier titles and it would create an indication to new players to that effect.
A: If you are referring to Normal and Hardcore descriptors for the matchmaking buckets, these are not final yet. Training and Normal would not work as this would imply an offline mode for 3PV which is not the case. 3PV is not only a great way for new players to learn to play the game, it’s actually a really fun way to play the game! Our early play tests have resulted in some interesting observations as hardcore 1PV proponents have taken a step back and seen the value and fun in 3PV. I expect once the 3PV view mode hits the Test Servers in the next 30 days, players will find it not as powerful as feared or as intrusive into the existing experience, rather accept it as an extension. Of course as promised out of the gates players will be able to choose 1PV and 3PV mixed or just 1PV.

You know what else you guys promised Bryan? You guys promised there would be no 3pv and no coolant flushes. So really do you expect us to believe much of what you guys say? I know you don't care if we do because you pretty much spat in our faces with your 3pv weather you like it or not approach.

Hasn't coolant flush been in like every game? Also same with 3rd person...I dont get the huge amount of ********* over this. It's not a forced on you, so maybe you guys should stop letting this game control your life, and go out and get a gf or something, get a real job. It's pointless to ***** and whine about features, I've done plenty since this ****** game came out. It's not a very good mechwarrior game in my book so I am pretty much about done with it. All of these issues will be going strong likely well after launch.

Dude, do you even comprehend the point of me mentioning it? The point was they said "no coolant flushing because it takes away the burden of managing your heat intelligently" That was a rough quote. Also they said a Jenner could core an atlas in 6 seconds if it was able to cool itself off. That is why I mentioned it because people seemed happy they were going that route. Also "Its not forced on you" What kind of BS is that? I dont use coolant flushing but how many of my opponents do you think use it? Not forced on me?

all of these would be valid arguments if and only if you where forced to play it like this...which you're not so most of the arguments here are pretty baseless.
