I hypothesize that most of the people who buy a pack will buy the 80$ pack because the lower packs are a terrible value for the cost.

The statistics show that most people bought the 80$ pack.

Myself and many others in another thread agree that any pack below 80$ has little value.

Currently circumstantial evidence supports my hypothesis.

You're ignoring the fact that the only value the $30 founders pack had was getting you into CB. You didn't get a mech until you dropped $60 on founders, and you had to drop $120 to get 4 mechs.

With this, you're dropping $80 for 12 mechs.

There's plenty of value in the smaller packs, especially when you hold it up to what came before. Stop complaining.

I put not buying but not because i do not want to or i am a cheep d-bag.

i am going in for an all out epic rig upgrade in the next month.

Plus logic dictates that there will be a CLAN PACKAGE in the next 3/4 months if PGI keep up with the time line we should see clan mechs soon. i have spent plenty of monies on MW:O so far and will continue to help fund this awesome endeavour

While I'm strongly opposed to telling people how to spend their money, the financial part of me is pained heavily by this poll.

I too feel your pain.

When I feel comfortable in dropping the cash, I plan on getting the $80 pack. Not just for the value, but I love the Battlemaster among other things. I'm an assault pilot to a degree and I'd enjoy having a mech with such a pedigree in my bay.

"I broke down"

You people sicken me.

You are directly standing in the way of MWO being a good game. But hey throw cash in their faces only to watch it slip away into IGP's pockets and for them to waste resources on features they promises us would not be in the game.

Like 3PV

I'm sure you're reallllly helping. No, you are the reason the game is in the state it is in and why they keep doing this clown bull sharpy.

BECAUSE YOU'LL GIVE THEM MONEY NO MATTER WHAT JESUS CHRIST THINK OF THE FUTURE OF THE GAME YOU DULL ********!

Have you not been paying attention to the trend in F2P games that are in various stages of beta?
Tribes?
PS2?

Both and MWO ruined or falling behind because of the company incentive to sell deals over making the game.FINISHING THE GAME! MAKING A GAME WORTH PAYING FOR~!

You are strangling the future of MWO with every dollar. Don't tell me they need more. They had more and it got funneled away. If they are that hard up then perhaps they should make content fans are willing to pay for instead of withholding what should be regular updates.

All I wanted was the S-Hawk and T-Bolt, so I got Guadrian. The Locusts are gonna be mothballed :3

How bout no?

There is no value in the 20$ pack unless you want a bad light mech for whatever reason.

The only things of value in the 40$ pack are the one month early release of the Shadow Hawks and some premium time. If one wanted all that they would literally be better off getting 40$ of MC, buying the shadow Hawk variants they want with it and buying the hero Shadow Hawk when it's eventually released+one month of premium.

The 80$ pack is a good deal and very few would argue that it's not. Unfortunately it's the only good deal in this package and I'm not gonna get swindled into paying for my Shadow Hawks a month early because it's "only" 40$.

I don't like 3PV either, but the reality is they are making this game to make money. The larger company has every right to use the money as they see fit. MWO will be their cash cow, it is leaps and bounds (at least it will be with CW and the Clans) better than their other projects and they will of course direct an appropriate amount of resources here.

Are there problems? Of course, but this is PGI's first big project and mistakes will be made. Call me naive but I still believe that they do want to make this game successful and doing so means that they will need to make money.

I will continue to fund the game I enjoy playing.
Once it stops being fun Ill stop funding it.

I finally stopped playing WoW this year and have moved on.
The same happened with EVE.
it is what it is, I can get the overlord pack. or I can go out a see a movie, grab dinner, or go offroading for a day. only one of these things has replayability.

My take on it /Shrugs

I bought overlord because I want all the mechs I also want this game to improve, it will only improve with investment and staff.

I'm highly critical of PGI I think they pull a lot of dumb crap, and I'm quite happy to call them a bunch of twats as long as I'm one of the people, paying their wages.

If I was just along for the free ride, I don't think I'd have the right to say what I do, and I don't think others that are, have a right either.

I primarily want the thunderbolt, but bought overlord, because at that point, $20 for 3 more mechs (+ bays) and the extra premium time means a whole lot less grinding.

... Which is a big deal when you only have an hour or so a day to play. (Darn wife and kids and full time job...)

I am going to need details on Community Warfare before I buy a bunch of Mechs and Cockpit items that have Loyalty Points bonus.

That said, if we get a nice write up on CW soonish, and I like what I see, I will think hard about Overlord. I’d love to have that information in time to get the 30 extra Days of Premium time… hint hint PGI…

I'll buy the Storm or the Guardian if and only IF I can swap out that dumb *** locust for the battlemaster.

I Paypaled $1,000 to PGI for absolutely nothing after reading this, as I don't like having others tell me what I should do with my money.

I bought overlord because I want to support the development of this game and I love the Battlemaster. My biggest limiting factor these days is time. I get the most gaming enjoyment from MW:O so $80 seems like a solid investment. Hopefully CW doesn't make me eat my words.

Storm because I like the game and that level has the mechs I want most. Might upgrade to guardian if I see some update I really like, but probably not. Storm seems to be the sweet spot for me.

This is epic fail logic......say it with me "$80 for 12 mechs" (4 really, I don't see how you can possibly list variants as different mechs, but then again you seem to think $80 for 12(4) mechs is a good deal, so go figure).
