This is epic fail logic......say it with me "$80 for 12 mechs" (4 really, I don't see how you can possibly list variants as different mechs, but then again you seem to think $80 for 12(4) mechs is a good deal, so go figure).

You are forgetting the Premium time and mech bays that come with them. Twelve mechs, and yes they are different because you have to have twelve of them to master 4, plus premium time plus 12 mechbays = pretty good deal if you see yourself playing the game when they are delivered.

Sampling looks good for Project Phoenix.

I'm undecided at the moment, they are saying they are making big progress. I just don't know though.

Edit
I'm heavily leaning towards no. At this point I feel build diversity is at an all time low. Class Warfare is dead.

I believe that the build diversity is the direct result of the lack of teamwork. They need a lobby system so pugs can coordinate before a drop and in game VOIP to facilitate teamwork. They are just waisting time tinkering with heat, damage and recycle rates, when everyone can properly work together without help from outside the game things will balance themselves.

Anthar, as someone who plays with a team regularly I can comfortably say that that is unfortunately not the case. A coordinated team of snipers in the current meta is going to beat a coordinated team of anything else with a little too much consistency. PPCs and other sniping weapons do need some balance passes before things start to even out. The SRM nerfs -really- hurt brawling. It used to be that brawlers could out-damage snipers comfortably within 270m, so it was worth trying to brawl. With SRMs as crap as they are right now, a brawler just doesn't have enough damage output to beat a sniper, especially with the burly PPCs all the kids are using nowadays.

I do, however, fully agree that this game will get a lot more fun and balanced once things like lobbies and in-game VoIP get added, and it will prevent a lot of the unfun stuff that happens in pugs.

So up to this point, almost 60% of respondents have bought a Project Phoenix package with almost 88% of those bought the Overlord package. Another 20% seems to want to buy it but are waiting on more concrete info on CW or for the gameplay to improve. 13% will not purchase it and the rest are undecided for other reasons.

I hope PGI makes good use of this. Despite my own gripes with certain parts of the game I do want to see it succeed.

I'm in the same boat as a lot of people not wanting all these mechs, but I bought the overlord, other than the battle master starting to grow on me and the 55 tonner I'm not really interested an probably sell the non pheonix ones, might not even master them first. Plus also looking for a cbill grinding
Mech and it's a lot better deal than just buying one hero.

Just value the mech bays plus game time was enough for me to buy, which I would of probably bought the time anyways.

They broke me. After grinding hard for 11 million c-bills to get the third Highlander (plus mandatory upgrades) so I could master my Heavy Metal, the thought of NOT buying a dozen mechs, NOT being nickeled and dimed for the mech-bays, PLUS more premium time suddenly became appealing...

I got the storm tier but if the phoenix project is still available (I'm assuming that it's going to be around for a while) I'm going to upgrade to the overlord tier when I get my next pay check.

Since someone decided to put up a duplicate poll I'd thought I'd post again.

I was thinking about going all the way and splurging $80, but after this last patch involving a stupid heat penalty system that doesn't solve the main problem (I was willing to give it a try), I decided I'd rather spend my $80 elsewhere.

I regret buying the Overlord pack after hearing the answers that PGI gave in ATD 42. I am actually seriously considering submitting a chargeback

Overlord all the way. Figured i bought into the founders program and spent upwards of $400 on this game so far, another $80 was no big deal. Plus i love the mechs. :D

Just bought overlord after enjoying the last patch. Very pleased with progress, and Battlemaster is just a great looking mech.

And I second the question above: what's wrong with ATD42 that might make someone ask for a refund?

I want to see some either developement feedback, CW warfare preview before I spend money on this game developement...

Reason for this are...

Steam Sale
No developement update on CW
Other Kickstarter Projects / indie games

I will admit I really do like the new heat patch and volcanic map to this game with the latest patch...but I need more developement updates, at least on CW before I spend money on Project Pheonix (Especially $80). I want MWO succeed but I am also on a limited budget because of other indie / kickstarter projects.

In my opinion, the game is in a state that is no where near complete enough to have a successful launch. Two months until launch with the current mess this game is in. I would very much like it if they pushed launch back at least six months so they can have a polished product

Just at the steaming pile of **** that Simcity 5 was at launch (and still continues to be). Sim mayors are a pretty hardcore bunch and they went ape **** over that release

Quality >> Quantity
