I know that heat sinks & heat dissipation are huge topics for debate in MWO, and while playing I came up with an idea. Correct me if I'm wrong, but heat appears to dissipate in a linear or near-linear ratio. Why isn't this based on a sharp curve? On one hand, those who manage their heat well will get rewarded with better cooling than stock, and those who "boat" anything (or run hot frequently) will get penalized heavily. Really, this will promote using chair-fire and decrease the use of constant run-and-gun-alpha-strike-overheat boats. It's the best of both worlds if you ask me.

good idea, anything that promotes chain firing over boating group fire is a definite plus.

And to be clear, I think that the game's current heat dissipation level should take effect somewhere in the 50-75% range on the curve; anything higher gets terrible cooling rates, while anything less gets progressively a lot better. I am one that believes we should have better cooling that what is in the game now, but only if you're smart about it; Otherwise it's gonna get toasty.

Yup, the more heat you have the more the heatsinks have to struggle initially to cool things down so I would LOVE this implementation.
