BattleTech is what it is - full of scientific flaws and fluff, but that's what makes the universe what it is. Anyone can make a FPS robot shooter, just take BF4 and reskin the people into 'Mechs. To make a simulation - to play the part of a MechWarrior in the BattleTech universe - means to simulate it properly.
There's very little chance that needs to be made, and PGI is proof that the more they try to change the more $#!+ they break in the process.
For a MechWarrior game MWO is garbage. For a random Mecha Robot Shooter, this game is ... okay. However, I didn't pay for a Founder's package to play a random robot shooter, I paid for what (at the time) they were advertising - a MechWarrior simulation that followes TableTop rules as closely as possible. Strange how after they got the founders $$$ they removed that from the FAQ and the game has been ever changing into an FPS/random robot shooter ever since.
