Hows the new Patcher working? Any major difficulties? Please let us know!

Patcher

- Transition to .NET 4.0 (XP users can download and install .NET 4.0 here)
- Various bug fixes

Installer

- Doing disk space check (5.5 GB)
- Typical/custom installation options
- Bootstrapper installs .NET 4.0 & DirectX9.0c

For those having issues with the installer, please contact us at support@mwomercs.com for additional assistance.

Today I noticed the patcher doing some strange things.

I downloaded the update
Then the patcher should patch the game right? Well it didn't and just closed the patcher.
Restarted patcher numerous times. Same result.
Finally checked the disk where MWO was on and noticed it was full. Cleared out some rubbish and tried to run the patcher again, and succes.
So patcher doesn't say why its closing, very annoying, maybe include a message why it closed/failed?

As usual I have corrupt .pak files. Two of them, including the ever increasing Objects.pak. Getting a bit tired of fixing my own installation once a fortnight. PGI how are you going to keep users installations up-to-date when you release in a few short months?

OH thanks i will try. The MWO Repair Tool found some corrupted files and it tries to reinstall some of this. It will take a long because the repair tool have to download over 1 Gigabyte? So much corrupted files after several times to finish the patch successfully? I will wait und pray :).

After reinstalling some pak. The Game works. Good. The Repair Tool has fixed it. Thanks.

Yes, when I first started replacing broken .pak files, Objects.pak was a mere 500 MB :wub:Now it's more than 1 GIG :D Think PGI are just trying to make the problem bigger!

The patcher automatically started "downloading - repairing"... something or other. It seems to be doing this very, very slowly. Have just reached 255 MB / 63,26 MB. Any idea how much more of this the patcher will download/repair?

Edit: The patch size appears to be 63,26 MB. The megabytes above that seems to be whatever is broken. Also the ETA is a negative number, and growing.

So this is the third patcher in a row that fails. The patcher starts and completes the download. As soon as it goes to the extraction state it just closes. Every attempt to run after that closes patcher immediately. Deleting the mwoupdater folder allows the patcher to redownload the patch only to have it fail in exactly the same manner. I have to run the repair tool to get the new patch installed bypassing the patch utility completely.

Super annoying.

The new patch or patcher seems extremely slow to download. I'm getting just under 1 MB / min on it, yet at the same time I'm on the phone with someone who just downloaded the whole thing in about 2 minutes. I turned off A/V, quit and ran a speedtest (~25 mbps sustained) etc. So I don't know what to think, other than slooooow.

On the contrary, I have found the patcher to be working very well.

me too ! the Patcher worked great ! however sometimes your PGI Web Server is too busy and I had to launch the patcher at least 2 to 3 times just to get to the Login in Screen.
