The thought that "the devs" truly despise the people who will line their pockets with money given the chance is highly unlikely. The simplest explaination is that you are frustrated because you've been waiting a long time for this game (or one like it) and now that it's so close you are chomping at the bit and now the crazy is starting to leak out around the edges.

I work with the public on a daily basis and am used to seeing people at their worst. I frequently see people who get obsessed over a specific item. Normally they are fine and work well within the community, but when the object of their obsession gets closer and closer.... that's when the crazy starts leaking out. It's pretty obvious to people around them but never to the person in question. The first signs are usually conspiracy theories.

A tinfoil hat will not save you. Your best bet is to go have a nice long hot shower and get some rest. Look at your calendar. 5 weeks until you can buy your way into the game as a founder. If you don't have the money 5 weeks is plenty of time to work a little extra to earn it. Working extra may also serve the purpose of potentially taking your mind off the object of your obsessession while at the same time working towards that object.

I don't know how this was seen as an insult in the first place.

When he named the mech ForumUserKiller i LMAO and smiled knowing that it was infact a sign of recognition to all of us that watch everything the devs do and support them on these forums.

It was his way of saying "respect" in his cookey humorous way

I've had the pleasure and privilege of getting to chat with the devs outside of the forums. They are awesome people- and as with all awesome people, they're not afraid to joke around a bit. They're humans too, y'know. They're not strictly business, acting one way for eternity for the sake of maintaining an image. They're like that one cool dude in your class you don't mind chilling with.

Take into consideration for one second what the forums can be like. The devs don't mind joking that the forums are a pack of hungry sharks waiting to rip into them. Before you complain about that- how often have people made threads on here b***ing and moaning about stupid, irrelevant details that they harassed the devs to release in the first place? Honestly, they have a lot more patience than is apparent with the amount of crap that goes on here.

It's probably a joke and if anything, I suspect is has something to do with my tearing into the 'mechlab system when they had their first release of information (and nobody knew that they hadn't released ALL of the information about how they were doing it).

Where humans interact feathers will be ruffled; and if the worst that happens is that a 'mech gets a name that is a joke to poke fun at someone ... that's nothing to complain about.

Something of a sort been going for awhile now. As the numbers of pure/ hardcore/ veteran/ fans found this a while ago and newer / casual fans have started to take notice now. The numbers have skewed drastically. Eventually it will shift again as the new and casual fans get dirty in the ways of MW:O.

Doesn't help that memes can pervade the internet so easily that they are in a way a part of daily usage yet "search-fu" is a rare talent. A little research before hand could help the new ones but vets and such should try to set the fresh minds straight


On topic:
There was a lot of speculation and hounding for info about MechLab up until that video. I saw it as a friendly ribbing ala troll (sort of a shoutout too) to those so fervently waiting to gobble up 'Lab goodness. Some of the Dev crew and established forum vets have had silly back n forths, all in good fun. What was seen was a part of it is all.

Also, I have already challenged Paul to a duel, his Forumuserkiller modded Hunchback against my to-be-named DevTroller Centurion. Still waiting to hear back.

Seriously, it's all in good fun. The Devs are human, believe it or not, and enjoy friendly banter/insults/randomness with the community. How many other Dev teams do you know of that spend as much time frequenting their forums as the users do?

At the same time, when they released the Cataphract concept art, it was too choppy to be easily used by the fans in the Repainted Concept Art thread. So the devs posted that they were looking at getting a clean up version for the fans to scrawl all over.

They don't hate us, they've just grown close enough to the community that some occasional mud-slinging banter is taken in good jest.

Do you seriously believe that or just on another troll thread that seem to be popping up more than more........if you've actually taken the time to talk with Devs you can see they balance fun and seriously very well.....
