Seems kinda silly.
Though, hey, Orion, possible Sale, a challenge. Maybe an info update?

Factions, loyalty, perks, planetary map...
Meaningful stuff that keeps people playing. I know it's all going to get here eventually.
Ah....you are talking about the things, that should be there at launch???....sorry...not gonna happen.
I tell you what...IF, and that is a BIG IF, PGI manages to pull that stunt and all this is going to be in, I will turn into a WHITEKNIGHT....I promiss...really....except for that I decide different.

Thing is, I believe everyone that is here wants the game to succeed. Yes, the complainers may be a vocal minority, but they represent a non-vocal portion of the community. We don't know how large that part is because PGI doesn't release any numbers. This non-vocal group just goes away...probably never to return. I find myself dropping in the same game with individuals over and over again over the last couple of weeks. Either that is a quirk of my elo OR the player base at my time (us central) is smaller than it was. I don't know the cause but I fear the second.
S
I never said anything against the "vocal minority" (which i think is becoming more main stream). Just sharing an observation.
Thats interesting what you said about seeing the same people in drop after drop. I have not really noticed that, but to be honest I have not paid attention. Ill have to follow that a bit closer.

This way, they ensure that the servers will be packed with lots of people over the next few days following launch, and everyone who get to 100 (?) drops get their medallion, and as soon as the magic secret number (with a pubilc fake counter though, could be a million collective drops, or a bajillion) is reached, they hotpatch the new 'mechs in, and everyone who got their quota gets the "24" medallion.
Mmmmmmhm..
it's probably just a 24 hours thing...

If there is 'no hope' and nothing positive to say...
Why are you all here?
If there is hope...
Why do you insist on emphasizing the negative?
Yes we get it.
The game is not what it could be.
It probably never will be.
Please - either direct your focus elsewhere, or find something else to say.
We're here because we really want a good MechWarrior game. And the core game is decent, it's just WAY LESS that what we were promised. And instead of the development heading towards a good MechWarrior game, they seem to set their course for MechAssault Online. And because some of us have invested a substantial amount of money in this game based on what PGI promised it would be and frankly, what we got feels a lot like bait and switch. I want to hold their feet to the fire to get what I paid for.

All I was saying is that those things are what the game needs for people to feel completely immersed and continue playing for years. Then you went and QQ'd it won't be here soon enough mr. party pooper.

I am not saying I am right, but "Project 24" being nothing more but a 24 hours thing, wasting an event on a 24 hours time window on a week day? I don't believe that.

I know a very(!) easy way out of this. Do not pay money.
The game ist completely free!!!
And how long do you think the game servers will remain when people stop paying for them?
The issue of angry players not putting money into the game isn't that the players angry over these issues would never pay for playing in the game (through Premium time or in-game item purchases), but that those players would have done so except for the actions of the Devs, which have now caused them to withhold that income that otherwise would be there. Have I purchased items for the game? Yes. Have I asked for a refund? No (for my own reasons, everyone makes that choice). Will I purchase in the future? That is the question that hangs on the actions of the Devs, and right now is in the 'no' catagory. Could I be persuaded to purchase in the future? Yes, but only if I believe the company I am doing business with can keep any agreements made with their playerbase. Otherwise, I have no guarantee I will receive what they are claiming to be selling me.
And it is that future income that the Devs should be concerned with, if not their corporate business practices.

Take GTA v for examples, commercials, billboards a midnight release party on the actual release date, not a week later.
Rockstar is a huge dev house with a bloated budget for advertising a game that you need to buy to play. Release is huge for them, it's where their sales come from. MWO has been playable for a while now. Release is just something official. Also maybe the launch party is delayed because of GTA.

also about the lack of maps right now the current maps are so they can get the art assets out there and when all the map needed models are ready they will be pumping out maps like nobody's business for CW
search for MPBT 3025. Than, if you dare, say that abominable sentence you DARED to write here, again.
