About as good as MWO's Community Warfare.

Only difference is one is still within deadline, the other will be overdue half a year even if it comes out September.

Fall is the current projected date for CW. The first phase(s) of it anyway. We might get UI 2.0 in September.

and yet, we still have a game.

That is nice for you that life brought you a little joy.

In other news, I can't say I am pissed this is happening or that I feel the game isn't improving, but it is sure taking its sweet time. All in all the Phoenix deal was still solid in my opinion and still is now, but I will not give them any money from now on until CW is functional at a basic level or they offer us 12 v 12 custom games so we can arrange our own faction warfare placeholder. They need to deliver something more than a UI upgrade to open my wallet again. I am not angry, but I am firm.

I still love this game and want it to succeed, but I've given more than enough to get you to CW PGI, get it done.

Thank you. It did bring me joy and sadness.
Sadness for all those that, had faith.
Sadness for that faith to be dashed.

I hope this means we get to beat livin holy hell err Beta Test every single function and and item in the store and faction tab starting next week so that YOU and US are happy when it goes live. And wouldnt it make more sense to release the Project Phoenix Mechs BEFORE the game goes live instead of Afterwards? I think you should move the Phoenix Release 3 weeks before hand. Dont pull a Microsoft and go live and then end up patching week after week dor little things that could have been taken care of prior to release.

Yep. Which it wasn't before. So why are you surprised we have so many cynics here.

Which is how many months off target? The fact you call this game explains it all. Thanks Brah.

I am not surprised. There are cynics with every game. In fact the more passionate the cynic the more likely its a good title. I played WoW for 6 years. Reading the forums that whole time one would think the game was on the verge of collapse. And yet still its strong. If no one cared about it, no one would care to complain about it.

People claiming they won't give another penny to MWO because of "lack of <buzzword>" yet they throw money at a complete unknown is a little hypocritical. Give me MWO's progress any day.

what's the point of announcing a date? breed more disappointment when it either isn't met or is lackluster?

Will PGI listen to any of this? It doesn't matter how many pages these threads run for, PGI is a headless organisation shambling toward failure. None of us want that, we want the mech game we were promised.

The Phoenix Project sounds like a scam to me. I want to buy it, but there is still that pesky 3pv issue.

(PGI / Russ)- So we got a bunch of money out of them with the founders packs and we pocketed a lot of it, but now we need to discuss how to get more money out of the players.

(Garth Erlam)- What about game content, balance, playability and all the things we promised?

(PGI / Russ)- We tell everyone that we have 50+-4 devs working on the game.

(Garth Erlam)- With you and PGI pocketing all that money we can't afford that kind of staff.

(PGI / Russ)- lol that's why the actual dev count is 4+-50. 4 paid devs and +-50 unpaid interns. Every week we release anything that those 4 devs can get done making it look like we have a lot of upcoming content.

(Garth Erlam)- But what do we do if the paying players start to catch on to what your doing?

(PGI / Russ)- We tell them that we are going to introduce content that no one in the player base wants; to p**s people off and keep them distracted.

(Garth Erlam)- But what happens when we get near the release date?

(PGI / Russ)- Well we are going to need a fresh influx of cash, so we release the Phoenix Project; a bunch of classic mechs that have an amazing potential for profit because no one thought they would ever see those mechs in a game again. Oh and we will throw in Premium time with it to make it sell better. We will have plenty of cash.

(Garth Erlam)- And when nothing is done by launch?

(PGI / Russ)- Who cares? We pay the electric company a couple months in advance and let the servers run till they shut off the power. By that time we will all be living in the Caribbean or maybe Fiji.

or maybe im just paranoid....

Really? You are saying that MWO is in a better place than Star Citizen?

As usual, ima bit confused.

we will start CW ( whenever) earning loyalty points for Inner Sphere Houses (factions)...
until Clan factions come into the game.
and then some will leave the IS factions to join Clan Factions, and will have to undo all your previous hard work?

but ok, sept21: out of beta heh?

Considering you can't even play Star Citizen in any form and expected release of 2015, yes definitely.

All we got from RSI is some nice vids and pics and a good concept. Their spin is pretty good.

Well, as it's been said here many times already, Release Date is not exciting in the slightest without some definition of WHAT this Release actually is. What are we getting then, that we do not have now? Go promote it.

Well, if it's true that they postpone CW until next year, it means that CW gets a full year late, as it was promised on last winter initially, if I'm not mistaken.. or spring. And I came here for this, for CW, not just some infinite grinding over a couple of moderately inspiring maps. The gameplay is nice, but it's severely lacking some aim.

What would excite the player like me? New maps, new mechs, new UI? Well, very slightly (it took those mechs to be Unseen to spirit me up). As it is what this game SHOULD be presenting to be called Mechwarrior. Four mechs and two maps is no MechWarrior game, but we were patient and went some way waiting for a new mech a month, and CW somewhere over the rainbow. CW is what most of the core BT players came here for. You can't postpone it so long, there is not even a word of internal testing of CW...

What else? Battletech Universe. Bring in as much as you can. It's been roughly half a year since the Inner Sphere news feed has died out and nobody speaks of 'a day here equals a day in BT Universe calendar' anymore.

MechWarrior Online! We come here to get some 31st Millenium experience! And we are counting on you.
So what's with the Release Date? What is behind the line?

Sorry, but Chris Roberts has created more than one hit game, he is not new at this and his crew knows how to communicate with their fans. I do love Battletech though, and I still hope PGI can keep us playing, at least until the Star Citizen launch.

I really hate to say it but, I never was much interested in Star Citizen until one of my clan mates bought me a cheap pack for the alpha and beta access about a week ago. Needless to say, I started digging into exactly what it's going to entail and exactly what the premise is.

All I have to say is holy information overload. Compared to MW:O the amount of information about what's happening behind the scenes and how development is going is unreal. It doesn't mean that they don't still have to meet those goals development wise, but they give you plenty of screenshots and video's, as well as detailed information to let you make up your own mind.

Not to mention they are pretty damn open with the community. When has PGI done an active livestream about the development of the game? Not them playing their own game, but actually going into detail about the development of the game and how it's going.

The problem here, with PGI is a lack of communication and an overall lack of common sense or actually caring about what their community wants. About the only time they care is when it could potentially effect profit. Star Citizen simply puts MW:O and a lot of other games to shame in the communication and community department. We don't actually need to see the gameplay elements of Star Citizen to know that MW:O puts itself to shame in regards to actual gameplay.

Which proves absolutely nothing as to Star Citizen gameplay.

His ideas and concepts are grand but it could all mean jack if the execution is not there. Which, as I said before we know nothing about. We don't have anything other than art.

Besides I think most are looking at his games through rose tinted glasses. I was a fan, still am and have pledged myself but looking at it objectively today I don't think I could play through Wing Commander again. Fun to watch as a mini movie but as far as gameplay goes I think I'd get bored. The wonder has been lost.

The gamescape has changed over the years as have player attitudes. There's a reason why they don't make grand singleplayer games anymore a la WC or X-Wing.

I'm hoping that it will pan out but yes most definitely MWO is in a faf better position than Star Citizen atm.

If your signature has anything to do with you enjoying the Mech Assault games, your opinion has no validity here.

It's quite the contrary. My signature states that I consider 3PV proponents (who find "learning curve for controlling torso and legs separately too steep" and want to turn MWO into another MechAssault) inferior species.

The Clans are not required for community warfare. They are simply additional factions. The intent of the game has always been to have the players seeing the Inner Sphere perspective first, then "experience" the invasion (not exactly sure how, unless PGI employees form raiding parties and invade matches). Then at some point later (maybe) allow players to join Clan factions.

The point was that RSI actually communicates with the public, whereas PGI has done everything in it's power to drive players away.
