but.... the spider is downhill from the locust... and the locust doesn't even come up to the top of its head.

That's a TINY mech. October 15th+ is gonna be a pain for non-light players.

That's... excellent news

Suddenly Oct. 15th looks a bit brighter for this slightly insane light pilot!

I know it's been my favorite ever since the first time I played TT it was this and a Wasp. When Pro Pho was announced it took half a heartbeat to throw money at the screen. (I think I ripped my pants getting my wallet out)

Same story here, I weep for the fact that I cannot have my Wasp in MWO - but the Locust may well tide me over for a good while! That thing looks wicked

That, and the Thud, of course. That one's one of my all-time favourites from BT as well. Such a balanced 'mech.

If a bit heavy ;)

And here Brian Ekman reveals that LCT max engine is going to be 190 instead of originally announced 170 (in response to 10 heat sink min question)and that light engine weights are going to be adjusted

...which of course (the engine weight adjustment) we all hope is to make sub-100 engines possible (they would currently have negative weight) so that the Urbie with its 60-rated engine can finally be released upon the hapless masses

And of course we take the 190 limit for the Locust as a clear sign the speed limit will go the way of the dodo, as a LCT with a 190 engine would have a top speed of 153.9 without Speed Tweak, and 177 kph with Speed Tweak.

Jumping to conclusions; it's a fun pastime ;)

Yeah, so sad for the pilots that only have 4 chassis to choose from, as opposed to the 6 heavy chassis and 5 assaults
Damn those light pilots, wanting to play a new light mech, how dare they?

Once all the Phoenix and Saber 'mechs are out, there'll be 5 lights, 9 medium, 7 heavy, and 6 assault 'mechs.

And lights are the least played weight class by some margin already.

The problem with lights is that, especially with a speed cap, there is very little you can do to differentiate them. You have five tons for this, or......five tons for that.... The difference between the spider and the Jenner is about as far as you can get - there just is not a lot of possibility for different loadouts in that confined of a package.

That doesn't matter in the slightest; not every 'mech needs to be unique and special. Just give us 'mechs that look different and people will pick different 'mechs.

There's only so many combinations of three weapon types you can have, after all. Of the roughly 500 'mechs in the BT Universe, you can bet there are plenty of overlap.

My guess is that the engine weight difference he's talking about is that the engines already differ from BT weights due to adding... stuff (some other part of the mech that's separate in BT is just included in the MWO engine weights. gyros or something?). Could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time I thought I read something right but definitely didn't.

Boy, do I wanna go zoom zoom though.

It's gorgeous! Now I just must figure out how to fit AC20 ammo in it, it would be so easy if I just could remove life support in the cockpit...

Oh, it's no problem fitting AC/20 ammo in, it's the actual AC/20 that's physically impossible to get in :P
