Lasers are supposed to hit right since the laser HSR patch? I get NO feedback whatsoever on direct laser hits unless I lead my target. I can't even hit stationary targets for that matter. What's goin on with your server? This is really bad.

Damn straight.

What is worse though is the lack of any confirmation that this issue is recognised and a fix being in the works.

I could handle leading the lagshield before pre-HSR, but now that I have seen what life is like afterwards I don't wanna go back, please don't make me go back...I DUN WANNA! :D

For real.

I'm in Oz too. I've been having some really erratic games lately and it's getting hard to hit lights. Even when they stop briefly and I fire at them the hit doesn't register until they move off again. It's as if HSR has been turned off, but then it works fine in other matches so I figure it's server related.

If we start enough topics on the same topic, maybe someone important will notice.

HSR failing with ping jitter was commented on by a dev a while back. In the last patch feedback a dev said they were looking into improving hit detection (which is kind of like admitting it's completely borked, which it is).

I wish this issue would go up on the Known Issues thread because PGI clearly Know about it and it's clearly an Issue. It remains to be seen how seriously they take it and if they can fix the problem... soon... please...

My pings sits between 290-320ms so you can see how important HSR is for some of us. Now, don't get me wrong, you can still play the game get quite good at leading your target (I used to be a crack shot with a GR shooting light mechs circling me by leading 2-2.5 inches on my screen!) but when that changes between matches it's completely unfair. I feel like an old man returning soup to a deli. It's just not on.

Canadians have all the fun. (You don't hear that often...)

~310ms ping. Average damage per match is way down on a few months ago.

147-160 up to 220 and such. Having Jenners in my face standing still and me firing all weapons in their face with little effect.

Since HSR is still messed up, I'm not entirely sure why the other post about this topic where moved to the Archives as this issue is CLEARLY NOT FIXED! Kinda getting tired of watching an Atlas (among other things) with a cherry red CT kill 4 people because he no longer takes any damage.

Edit: My ping sits between 40 and 60

The devs know about it, they've posted about it in the past. I have good faith that they're working on it.

With that being said, I just gave my quad SRM-6 Awesome a few runs, and the hit detection for SRMs is very screwy. I only do damage 75% of the time!

yeah i notice this problem quite a bit with PPC's and AC's, but i have a great ping most of the time. I have heard this is how HSR works, and it seems correct that it actually punishes people with good ping in order to help the people with not so good ping. but its a pain in my ***

HSR is fine! It's PGIs way of introducing random hit locations!! ;)

Only protomechs are supposed to take no damage from near misses on the 3 and 11 rolls :D

It is not pleasent with high ping to play atm i emailed support for a refund on money spent but no luck..part of the email said this.

".HSR was never completed and is still being worked on. It takes time to improve these things, especially as we're a rather small team here at IGP as well as at PGI" that was from the gamemaster so its either be patient or uninstall i suppose.

I can confirm that. I reside in Germany, with a bad connection (2-6 MBit) - my ping is somewhere between 150 and 250 and at the moment, I don't seem to hit anything I see.

I will not claim to be a crack shot, but there are situations where I really do NOT miss. Still, no hits. Just had a game where I put 5 AC20 rounds in a Raven at short distance, no chance of missing. No damage at all registered.

this issue has been reported since march they obviously dgaf.

1st person shooter most important game aspect:
Damage registering to what u hit. And hitting what u shot at.

HSR broken makes that not possible for a lot of players but instead we get new victors and a crap movement system...

Now you can get stuck on pebbles on the ground while damage doesn't register on what your shooting at... NICEEEEE

this sums up all of the problems i've seen on streams.

Last night I got stung with a 420-450 ping. That's close to 50% worst than I'm used to. They're doing something in the background and not informing anyone. Personally I'm not surprised by this behaviour but what does surprise me is that they aren't running a competition at the same time. ; p

It works as if there's client-side hit detection but it's done at the server to stop any chance that hacked clients can cheat. So if someone shooting sees their hits connect, no matter what their lag is and no matter if the victim see a miss because of the lag, the attacker should still score a hit. Ultimately it favours the point of view of the person shooting.

Unfortunately if there are random changes (jitter) in lag (ping), MWO's HSR no longer works properly (is borked).
