Go here: http://bg.battletech.com/ Find the Universe tab, then hover your mouse over Great Houses, then click Capellan Confederation.

And then for more:

Handbook: House Liao
Field Manual: Capellan Confederation
Double-Blind novel
Binding Force novel
Threads of Ambition novel
The Killing Fields novel

Am I missing anything? We ought to let others know about 'Mechs that traditionally have more Capellan flavor in them, too.

and then go to www.houseliao.com to keep up with the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces.

We are linked to this game via Facebook and Twitter.

Maybe not good press for House Liao, but the Warrior trilogy as well as The Sword and the Dagger are fundamental for understanding recent Capellan history.

Ahh...yes, wise Tizona, the more our people can become acquainted with our vast history, although its not all glamorous....the better the fight they will bring to the battlefield!

Ok so I can and will only speak about the Liao I knew and loved but I'll lay out what we believed in. Its pretty simple :)

Honor

I remember seeing a couple of our old pages still up out in the ether I'll see if I can dig em up and repost em later. Big kudos to those of you who stuck around through thick and thin waiting for this game. For those who would like to know I'll post my best recollections of a timeline feel free to correct me in here.

The 3 BT based games came out.
Kesmai develops MPBT on Genie I was there at the $9 prime time and when it changed to $6 thats per hour :D
Time flies
Somewhere in here the MW and MW 2 come out
Kesmai develops MPBT Solaris for AOL
MPBT on GEnie is killed
Kemsai begins Gamestorm and puts in MPBT Solaris
EA buys Kesmai and begins developing Solaris into MPBT 3025
MW3 or 4
EA dumps MPBT 3025
Various groups try to get funding rights and capability to build a version.
Most migrate to either other games or some of the MW leagues.
Too many iterations for me to keep up with after that none as successful or as fulfilling as what we had.

and that brings us here.

What MPBT is if done right : A Strategic, FPS with RP elements. The best online game in existence. What House Liao is: The Best group of people you'll ever play with. People who will care about ya and who don't believe everyones a number. We have always been the smallest of the Houses and have always both held out own and been able to kick **** on ANY other House thats challenged us (ok so I exaggerate a bit we weren't that powerful in EGA on GEnie) but I'll never admit that in the general forums :D We are also the House that everyone looked to to set the standard for fairness and honor. More so than Kurita or Davion. We are the destined rulers of the IS never forget!

After reading the part of that long text about this house I feel a bit uncertain. Are there any honored citizens, that arent Chinese. I like this house, but if I would have to become Chinese to join it, I would really have to consider a lot of things. Are there any groups of non-chinese, yet Capellan mech units? I wouldnt care if it would be Russians, just something less Draconis like.

Oh and this thread should really be stickied.

Rest easy Adridos,

Go to Sarna.net and read up.

You will see that the Capellan Nation is made up and probably the most diverse of the 5 houses.

Its not all Chinese influence, alot of caucasian races are part of the House of the Forbidden City!

Does Joshua Kincade sound chinese to you?? :)

Capellans are Russian, Chinese, Greek, Japanese, Welsh, Korean, Scottish, Vietnamese, Indian, and more recently English and African thanks to immigration from the Magistracy.

I thought the Free Worlds League was the most diverse (by percentages), but I could be wrong. :)

The socio-political basis for the 1980s Capellan Confederation was Sino-Soviet. As China grew in power and the Soviet Union fell, CapCon took on more of the Sino role ... sadly. It's funny how some events in BattleTech try to stay current with modern times. :D

There will always be the Maskirovka and Tikonov!!

The Han influence is a fashion statement, not a requirement like it is in the Draconis Combine. Honest!

I could be wrong Max, as for the FWL....heh, I always saw them as quite bigoted! I see Capellans a more forgiving folk! Even when they are screaming as you run them through with your blade. :D

As for the Maskirovka and Tikonov..lol, We can always take the chosen few to the chosen land, and close the borders behind us! LOL
