ANH-3A - This upgrade made use of double heat sinks and used the tonnage saved to max out the armor on the Annihilator. Offensively, four ER Medium Lasers and eight Light Autocannon/2s were incredibly accurate thanks to the inclusion of a Targeting Computer. Ample autocannon ammunition allowed flexibility when choosing special munitions, making this 'Mech very effective against vehicles.

I remember piloting that during the Mechwarrior 3 Days. My god, the amount of weapons it could handle. Not to mention the carnage that was unleashed once I got my hands on that mech.

No building stood after it graced it with its GLORIOUS DAKKA.
IS Mechs? Clan mechs? NO MATTER! Resistance against it is futile.

For all will become one with the DAKKA-NATOR.

...I want one now. ;__;

It might also fit into upcoming content... I personally see it as a thread full of examples why pinpoint accuracy can't stay.. we already have problems with that right now.. think of how much worse those designs, many of the canon stock variants, would make it

All these mechs would be fine if we didn't have group fire.

Convergence + Group Fire => Alpha Boating wins the day.
Convergence - Group Fire => You have to aim each shot seperately, because that's the only way to shoot.
Group Fire - Convergence => You will have to aim each shot seperately if you want to focus your damage.

Convergence, Group Fire, Balance. Pick any two.

If the annihilator would wreck gameplay balance so hard as if it's ****** an infant... Clearly something is wrong with gameplay balance then.

That being said. Fix balance and bring the Monstrosity. I'd sell off my Steiner tags for kuritan contracts in a heartbeat if I could get my hands on this beast.

The ANH-1X is a beast (but wouldn't be with the LBX-10 we have at the moment).

Screw that. The only thing I will cram in that will be dakka. Obscene amounts of dakka. 4UAC5s and two AC2s. 6 AC5s. I want to keep ammunition companies in business with my mech alone. I want the TF2 heavy to gaze at my mech in rapt adoration before shedding a single tear in pure, childlike joy. I want the new, awesomely loud sound effects to create a harmonic reverberation in my head that causes my ears to bleed and my fillings to fall out, while I cry tears of joyous blood. Lasers will be afterthoughts. If I could trade a laser hardpoint for an MG, I would. I want to throw so much dakka down range that ORKS think I have gone too far. I want people on the receiving end to be so shaken that they feel the need to create a new collective noun to describe what they were hit with, because 'torrent' and '****-load' don't do it justice. I want a lance of boom Yagers to see my loadout, and decide that discretion is the better part of valour. Dakkaphracts will worship me as their king.

Speed will be an afterthought. Armour and gun are all that matters. Gun so I can smite my enemies, armour so I can spread the joyous gift of dakka to all that I can for as long as I can.

Quite frankly the Annihilator scares me. It is one of the few mechs that is very capable of shredding or...forgive me, Annihilating a Daishi. It is literally a walking death machine. Its also relatively versatile as well which would be interesting.

Hell yes get this thing in the game.

Only after the game is fixed though, I fear it would break the game even more so than what it is at the moment. Imagine an alpha built Annihilator... Save our souls.

Honestly I just want the thing so I can throw dragon scale pattern on it, and call it Gausszilla.

If I was against this in a mtch I wouldn't care if it had 50 PPC's mounted .. I would just gaze in amazement. Great artwork here, if only the mech could match this instead of being another broadside of a barn. A+ on this model.

Hardpoint restriction fanboi solution in ...Three...Two...One...

In addition to hardpoint restrictions we already have in place a chassis quirks system and engine size limits.
These two already existing features can be applied to "boat" chassis as a means of reducing the impact of mechs like the Annihilator.

Annihiltators have a 200 standard engine and as an Assault mech may have up to 20% higher engine rating meaning a 30kph Annihilator can if desired replace it's 200 engine with a 240 and possibly hit speeds as high as 38KPH wow, take the top down that's insane...

Also if for example the Annihilator had 30 degree torso rotation and of course lacking lower arm actuators Annihilators lack lateral arm movements. If the torso pitch was also limited Annihilators can be defeated by simply standing on higher ground and shooting at their ponderously slow chassis.

But if you happen to end up right in front of one it's probably gonna really really hurt.

Besides Annihilators are probably among the rarest of the rare of mechs only being deployed by Wolf's Dragoons Zeta Battalion.

Zeta Battalion lost the bulk of it's forces in 3039 battling House Kurita elite units.
Even the Dragoon only have a handful and the remaining 2 or 3 not in Dragoon hands were likely salvaged by Combine mechwarriors who probably regret it due to not having any source for spare parts since Annihilators are not in production anywhere....I am also a Battletech fanboi ;)
Each of the currently-extant Annihilator variants (the ANH-1A, ANH-1E, and ANH-2A) are already carrying ~8 weapons (though the prototype ANH-1X mounting two additional Small Pulse Lasers (for a total of 10 weapons) and the SLDF-in-Exile designed ANH-1G carrying only four weapons).
Given that most Assault 'Mechs only have 8-9 hardpoints per variant (with the Stalkers being the exception, even though they only have just enough hardpoints to carry their stock armament), it seems unlikely that the Annihilators would benefit much (if at all) from the usual hardpoint inflation.

Also, it should be noted that the Annihilator C "Bryan" (aka "Gausszilla"), the "normal" Annihilator C, and the Annihilator C 2 (insert Code Geass references here) are all effectively-extinct designs - they only existed in Clan space, and the Clans stopped building the Annihilator chassis prior to Nick Kerensky's death in 2834 (and sending the few they had left with the Wolf's Dragoons into the Inner Sphere).

Additionally, each of the currently-extant Annihilator variants (the ANH-1A, ANH-1E, and ANH-2A) has Lower Arm Actuators in both arms; their respective record sheets can be found here, here, and here.
This would (unless location-splitting is implemented) prevent them from mounting more than two AC/20s (while the VTR-9A1 Victor variant could potentially have mounted three AC/20s, had it been one of the variants selected).

Finally, the engine cap would be quite low (meaning it would have low torso twist speeds as well as low ground speeds), and it may have rather limited arm swing capability if the MWO design mirrors the "bulging belly" look of the original artwork.

This is penned from the marvellous mechanical mind of the venerable ThunderGodXarbala on Deviantart. Check him out, he's got some great stuff in there.

Won't happen. Not enough variants available. 4 Gauss+4 PPC also isn't a good thing for the game...

There are 4 variants available now, quickdraw only has 3, how can there be not enough variants?

You got the Quad AC/10 model, the Quad LBX/10 model, the Quad PPC model and the Triple Gauss + PPC model.
