I don't mind the sale; I don't have the mechbays to buy Victors anyway, so no personal loss.

What I want to know is this: Has anyone seen a victor on the battlefield yet, apart from the dragon slayer? I had today off from work, played about four hours, and did not see a single non-DS victor.

Yea, and when you encounter a serious challenge in life sometimes it is easier if you use both hands. You can go back to painting the Picasso with the left hand after you help the right hand save the wall that the Picasso is going to hang on.

I had my 9S and 9K out there. They're actually pretty good mechs.

I heard the Victor is a reliable Assault mech, but I prefer the medium version of Victor; the Clint.

I feel sorry for the people who have to read this as part of their jobs. It's now at 18 pages.

Even if I was paid and given free mechs, I wouldn't want to go beyond the first ten pages.

Any chance you guys would just play the game?

I like the idea of this sale ... and I understand all the reasons why others don't.

Paying for early access, to get ahead of the grind ... good idea.

I won't be buying them, because I already have 50M C-Bills set aside specifically to outfit all three next week (and don't know what else I would spend it on).

I don't understand the reasons. Actually I can only think of one reason why people would be againsg this - pure envy.

We all knew that the CB versions would be released next patch, the 16th. This was no surprise and fully expected.

What was unexpected was this special. So in essence we have lost nothing nothing but gained something.
You would have needed to wait anyway and they have NOT delayed the release date.

Which leads me to believe that some people have a serious case of jelly cos some can get it a week earlier than scheduled.

Meh... I'm not jelly of this. I've got some CBills stashed away and will be buying at least 2 of the 3 come the 16th. This just like the Pheonix Project (AKA: Founders Program Take Two) just seems like a money grab on PGI's part. Been about a year since Closed BETA, and we still have screens in our Mechs that display (Auto Detect), No Community Warfare, Silly grouping requirements (4 and 8 mans only) that have devastated most of the Companys / Guilds / Clans, and PGI changing the game from the Mech Sim they originally promised during Closed Beta to a 3rd Person Point of View Jacked up version of Mech Assault.

Really PGI is doing some stuff right but it's getting hard to keep asking me for money when the game is still in BETA, and I still don't know if I'm getting the Mech Sim I want or Mech Assault for the 21st Century. How about we see some Community Warfare, or get a peek at just how this 3rd POV is going to be before we toss you more money?

As some others posted in the early pages of this Forum... Star Citizen is stealing your monies. I would rather pay for a functioning Space Flight Sim where the Company actually held to the Original founding principles than fund the newest version of Mech Assault.

I think the Art Work and the In Game Model for the Victor Look Great! Honestly PGI has done a great job in the design of these Mechs.I just wish that they were able to pull of that same level of quality in the other aspects of this title.

I find it real hard to praise these Canadians for much at all. But selling mc victors a week early? Sounds like a good plan to me. If you really are anxious and absolutely need must have it, you can for about $17 a piece. Now why anyone would buy mechs with MC boggles my mind - > considering the price, the 3 mech to tier up pre-req, and the fact that people generally just move on to leveling up another chasis once you get that extra module slot.

Very smart - this is the way that F2P's should make money. Early access and such for paying customers, freeloaders get the same thing if they wait a bit.

Much better than pay only mechs and the like - I hope this promotion is very successful.

Good point there. I was actually about to rant about it, but your argument really sorta enlightened me before making an ape out of me. Thank you for that
But I have to respectfully disagree on the Hero Mech point. I think that the mechs for real bucks are a legit way to make money out of the game.
It is basically the same system. You pay money to safe yourself time as heroes grant a bonus on ingame cash. And being unique variants is a nice bonus on top of that. As of now most hero mechs are amongst the weaker variants within their models so thats basically fine with me.
I only consider Champion Mechs a bit dubious. Especially as I happen to know at least 3 players who didn't get it right when they started the game. They misinterpreted the bonus on xp as 5% on GXP, so that you get 10% of your mech xp as gxp instead of getting 5% more mech xp which reduces the bonus on gxp to 5% of 5%, so 0,025% more gxp. That is not that much especially when it comes at real money.

But I really gotta stress here how welcome this early access via real money is in a f2p game. In fact I gonna buy one to endorse that system so the devs will do something like this in the future instead of wasting the tiniest thought about a way to sneak real pay2win up on us some day!!!

Well played gentlemen.

But people pay for shinies... Anyway, they need to stop wasting time on 3PV and make CW and Team Death Match. I believe that a true majority of players would want Team Death Match before 3PV.

Just to restate a few points. This is not pay to win. This is a very smart way to make money to keep this game alive. Also most players will not be bothered by this at all. Matter of fact many players will buy the mech to have it early and to save the grind.

Also I would bet all new mechs come out this way and I am fine with that.

Smarty way to make money? PGI continues to remind me to pull out my wallet for this game I'm going to continue to not spend money on the game anymore. Every new announcement has to do with MC purchases, I don't want to think about my credit card with every new bit of content for this game.
