Do the pre-release Victors come with a 90-day money back guarantee? Warranty? Parts and labor? Triple-A roadside assistance?

$15 bucks to play 1 week early. Sounds like 1 movie ticket for one week entertainment.

I won't budge from waiting (already dropped $ on DS).

But this is more then fair to me.

I see what you did there

On more serious note you absolutely correct. So much crying and trolling that this forum is turning into Battlefield 3 forums. Anyone who played Bf3 knows what im talking about, this forum is dangerously getting close to that one :).

I havn't touched BF3 and now won't if its forum is as bad as this one, but I thought your post was worth quoting as there can never be to much Darth Vader

Very smart - this is the way that F2P's should make money. Early access and such for paying customers, freeloaders get the same thing if they wait a bit.

Much better than pay only mechs and the like - I hope this promotion is very successful.

I like this.

To be honest what I would like even MORE is if the developers "trialed" the mechs on live servers a week before they launched.

People playing would be like "WTF is that thing?!" etc. Is that Paul in a timber wolf ?!?!?!?!

I think charging for early access a very fair and intelligent way to make money without hurt the game in any way.

If you don't want, don't buy it, if you want, buy it, simple as it can be.

I hope they make a lot of money to invest in future developments!

Looking forward for the Clan Wars!

Honestly, I would have done it a MONTH early instead of a week early. I believe that would entice more people.

Two things.

1. If you are calling it P2W, you don't know what that term means.
2. Not putting any more money into the game until we get some real updates/information on CW, metagame, etc.

So if you are taking real world cash for in-game items we're not in beta, right?

Clan Wars as in IS Vs Kerensky descendants or Clan Wars as in Community Warfare?

I hate to say this but whenever their is a promo like this and some people spend lots of cash they always thought that this is P2W, publisher is a money grabber and others as if they already bought the whole game.

Games like this are made to earn money and this kind of game is not cheap. From concept, design, licensing, programming, server maintenance/operations and other processes to make it online is not equivalent to a thousand purchase of hero/founder and promos.

Don't expect PGI and its employees will cash out from their own pocket until it dry just to make you happy.

When sold packages of founders, developers have earned about $ 4500000. It was a year ago, developers have the money. They could make an interesting game, but what we see upon entering the game - shop. Not the world of battletech.

4500k Dollars is a drop of nothing for creating a game. I bought 2 Victors and hope to Support the development of MWo with it quite a little bit. I think there is a increased need for money to get the upcoming features out the right and early way. So what? 30 bucks do have fun with "le pompfes" a week earlier? here we go. :>

If they developers would consider doing what is important--like balancing their broken game... THEN I'd think of spending more money.

In my opinion, P2W would be "PGI is releasing a Diashi, complete with all the Clan tech, for $50 each, and this is the ONLY WAY you will get your hands on one."

That? THAT'S P2W.

Releasing models a week early for those willing to pay for it isn't. And honestly, say what you will about the state of some of the weapons, but give PGI credit for making the mechs themselves pretty balanced. Ever taken down an Atlas in a Jenner or Cicada? Back shot a Misery to death by sneaking up behind them? Ganged up on a Heavy Metal?

Even the mechs you do have to pay for aren't exceptionally better than the free ones, although they do have advantages in weapon layout or slot types. I really can't think of a worthless Mech out there (although there are a few that are more useful than others....I'm looking at you, Cicada 3C...)

I made a good guass build on a 3C... and a good ac/20 build, and dont forget the infamous dual ac/20 build (my favorite) Lots of viable builds on all of the cicada varients

It's a shame they are so busy SCAMMING us with the P2W monetization schemes to.....

wait... what is this?

12 v 12 test serve goes live tommorow... but.. I didn't get to finish my QQ about the P2W Victor yet......

*sigh*

Gosh QQ Nation, dontcha hate it when you are forced to realize that there are a hundred moving parts at any time in a game development cycle, and some things progress faster than others, because it DOESN'T exist in a static bubble?
