is it too much to ask for some leniency toward people who can't make those times?

Yes. It's a test. While it is fun to do, it is not done for your entertainment.

Tests more then just the 12v12.

It not only tests the ability to install a test client, and run a test client, but also tests the ability for the development team to add in a "test environment" into the life cycle that is *different* then their internal testing.

There is a lot more "testing" going on then just seeing how 12v12 works.

So the public test server will finally be a reality! Great! Here is the staffer post: http://mwomercs.com/...-schedule-july/
And there is a FAQ here: http://mwomercs.com/...ublic-test-faq/

But notice he says that it will only be running during these times:

Why only 2 hours per run? That doesn't make much sense!

Actually it makes perfect sense, because that's how a test environment works:

You introduce you variable (12v12) into the environment, test the heck out of it, stop and analyze data, tweak and retest. You want retest to be as similar as possible to the last one (with the exception of your tweaks), so you test in the same window with the hopes you'll get the same user set.
