What do you want to do with them?
There's some utility that can be gained, but seriously not very much. A macro for AC2's makes them sound cool (but not work better); a macro for UAC5's makes them more reliable but do less damage both in burst and over time.

About the utility:
Only actually useful macro might be the TAG-toggle, which can be emulated by sticking a piece of paper into your keyboard (=the hightech solution + prevents chat spamming)
Dunno, but seems that ping is affecting the chain mode. Well basically it is pointless to shoot AC2s in chain mode, but the effects are just so much better that way. I have constant ping of 150+ and if I use in game chain mode for AC2s the second one will fire when the first ones CD is almost over, so I'm losing RoF with that mode. With macro I can fire them chained with full rate of fire. (Not sure if there is some chain mode game mechanics that I'm not familiar with)
Also I use UACs in un-jammable chain mode to get feel where the bullets are going when leading a moving target and when I have the correct lead, I will fire them in ultra mode for full damage. So I think the macros help conserving ammo to some extent.
For AC5s I have a chain macro as well for steady chainmode, which I use similar fashion as the UAC macro. Find the correct lead and then start group firing them.
Well basically this could be done with in game methods too, so I think I'm using those just for the sake of having them set up already
But overall AC macros are very situational and mainly for the effects and feel that you are pushing out more damage (which in truth might be less than with group fire as the landscape gets it share).
On the topic: I use Autohotkey for the macros. I have logitech too, but by googling it is really easy to setup the Autohotkey and do the scripts for the macros, if not directly found. And the scripts are same for everyone, so it's easy to share.

Doesn't chain firing add a .5 second gap or delay between weapons? An AC2 has a cooldown of .5 so when you fire the second one the first one would already be ready to fire again. That's probably the issue you're running into when using the in game chain fire mechanics.
Another macro I at least find useful is the scroll wheel zoom macro. Lets you use your mouse's scroll wheel to zoom in instead of pressing "Z". Just feels more natural to me.

You want post #79 by evilC for the tag toggle and zoom macros, the rest of the thread is mostly just troubleshooting and some instructions.
@travelbug
I'm not sure what you mean, do you just want to fire two medium lasers at a time? You can do that without a macro, just put each set of medium lasers in their own firing group in game. For example two in group 1, two in group 2, and two in group 3 and only fire one group at a time.

Here's a simple macro, keep in mind this is formatted for AutoHotkey and may or may not be compatible with your program. It should give you the general idea, however. This macro assumes you have 2 ML assigned in group 3, 2 ML assigned in group 4, and 2 ML assigned in group 5. As such it will fire 2 lasers, wait 1 second, fire 2 lasers, wait 1 second, fire 2 lasers and repeat so long as you hold down the button. It's set to Q here.
Spoiler
This second version fires a series of 2, 2, and 2 MLs so long as you have them in groups 3 through 5, but this time it fires the whole series of 6 lasers when you just tap Q instead of hold it. It is also set at half second intervals.
Spoiler
This is my current macro, for a more vivid example. This is for a JM6-DD with 6 AC/2s, and is designed for testing the Super Crusher Heavy Autocannon 20 variant using in-game available objects. Upon pressing Q once, it fires a burst of exactly 10 AC/2 rounds (20 damage). It completes this task in exactly 1 second, and then forces me to wait 4 seconds (the AC/20 reloading time) before I can fire again. I cannot re-fire or trick this script, forcing me to use the 6 AC/2s as a single AC/20 for precision testing purposes.
Spoiler
Video sample of that macro in action; part of a larger video demonstrating a weapon variant concept involving multi-shot ACs.

As far as I am aware, using setpoint for macros works the same with all mouse models. I recommend hitting youtube for tutorials. The newer setpoint software didn't work at all with my G9x so I wound up finding and using an older version (used Google search for the problem and then solution).
