PGI do anything about this overpowered weapon!

Every match, every mech, all use only PPC!!!!!

Decrease the Weaponpower 10 -> 5 damage, PPC dont use ammo, so it doenst need so much dmg!

Eventually something will happen? But lowering the damage to 5 won't happen, just sayin', since that'll make it a super-heavy Light PPC.

if ppc/er where 10/15 heat we wouldn't have a million threads about this. Amazing that BT fixes all the problems making Mechwarrior a shooter causes.

It aint the weapon that is overpowered, and loweiring is damage wouldnt respect Battletech damage table....Its the weapons hardpoints that have a problem...since you can repeat any kind of variant on nearly all mechs

PPCs are fine!

Boating and convergence are the problems!

Is boating AC/2s OP? Is boating AC/10s OP? Is boating lpls, LLS, mpls, MLs, SLs, AC/5s, UACs, SRMs, SSRMS, or LRMs, op?

no, but ya its totally boating and not the ppc itself.

PPC are far from fine.

Its hardly the damage, that can be okayy for now if only the heat was appropriate.

Have you seen the heat boat files on the test server? Apparently PGI thinks boating 3 or more LL's is OP, and boating anything more than 1 AC/2 is also OP. No joke bro.

To a degree boating is a 'thing' in Battle Tech, its there, but Livewyr is probably saying its a combination of things, not just one issue.

Well that speaks more to the ineptitude of PGI than the correctness of Livewyr.

Use any of the aforementioned weapons, does their convergence make them OP? no.

So if any other weapon save for PPCs is fine converging and being boated, then how is convergence or boating the issue and not the PPC? (you could say AC/20s but that is really only a concern at lower ELOs).

Actually the PPC is the only problem - but the day when the first mech with 4 AC 10 hit the game...
AC 10 will be OP...

or tripple gauss
Gauss will be completely OP....

or when SRMs will regain their full strenght
SRM are OP

seriously - boating is a problem... the question is not what kind of boat - the correct question have to be: How many damage can be dealt without breaking balance....
  • 9 SLAS were a problem once
  • 6-9 MLAS were a problem once - heat was increased by 33%
  • SRMs were a problem actually they are complete useless if you not boat them. 2 SRM 6s --- if i had the place i would mount 3 MLAS and would achieve better results
  • Gauss Rifle was a problem - i think it is still a problem

The shots need to move a little slower. Not Closed Beta slow but slower than they are now.

Guys remove oars, sails, water, and life-vests and boating will no longer be a problem.... it's so simple; it's F'n silly....

SLs were an issue on a 150kph hunchback with bugged SLs that only created .67 heat instead of 2

MLs have never been a problem.

SRMs - Ya, HBK 4SP has always been garbage. quit making up stuff to suite your "facts"

Gauss isn't a problem in that it weights 18 tons with ammo.


And the 1 that was actually a problem the SLs were fixed by correcting broken heat generation and stopping the hunchback from running 150kph.

Try harder.

Wow amazingly enough, my 9 damage, 7 heat, 5 ton weight, Large Laser builds almost always outperform my 10 damage, 10 heat, 7 ton PPC builds so I guess LLs must be even more OPed.

Or

They are actually pretty well balanced against each other since they are similar weapons after all.

its the ease of use. They hit almost as fast as lasers but do more damage. They need to be harder to use to make them a risk/reward weapon like the ac/20. And by harder to use i mean harder to hit with. Projectile speed needs to drop to the same as the ac/20. Sure you have the "max range" but PPCs in every previous mechwarrior game never traveled as fast as they do in MWO.

The problem is not with the PPCs they are fine... The biggest problem here is maps. The new big maps, they are too open, no trees to hide in no nothing. U can easly find opponent further than 1000m and snipe with ppc thats what it makes it OP. Maps are big but they are empty... If there was like one side strong forest where u could ambush mechs easly, and in other side a city or a wreck who looks like a small maze where is good place to brawl out in safe spot from LRM, snipers... and only the middle could be kinda empty, that would make game 1000x more fun more ballanced. Small maps are fine, no they are good! With caves and many spots and hills to hide and run, while the big maps are the ones who make PPC OP because next nerby hill to hide is moust of the time 20 sec away, which is too far to survive 4 ppcs...

I don't think it is so simple as that. PPCs are behaving the same as in previous MechWarrior games.
