- A % of critical damage done to the internals of a component will be applied directly to the inner structure of that component
I'm not sure I really understand what you mean

means your internal structure can be damaged even you still have armor on

Oh goody... high alpha strikes benefit.
So... what Paul has come down to is... LPL and MPLs have its beam duration lowered?
Did someone miss the memo that both weapons are just NOT AS GOOD AS THEIR LASER COUNTERPARTS?
This combined with the LPL being merged with LL and ERLL in terms of the heat penalty is... just another reason to take the PPC.

Erm... yes and now they are made better so what exactly was your point?
The first item on Paul's list requires some further info but I really like all of those listed changes. What comes to the first item, no longer will critting an engine be a moot point, which is good.

First point: no we're not getting through-armor damage.
Second point: lower beam duration is a buff. Lower beam duration means less time required on-target, more concentrated damage, and shorter recycle.
Third point: Well currently, yeah, but these are coming at the same time as a heat increase on the PPCs, which will hopefully give LL it's place again.

You missed the part where LPL got a major nerf prior to the patch, making PPCs more favorable because of the heat generated and range... despite the slight damage increase to the LPL.
LPLs were fun for me before that nerf, now it's not even a consideration for any build, especially with the heat penalty linkage.

Not so sure on some of the heat reductions. PPCs are pretty low heat as it is, too, even with a 1 point upgrade to each.
But that said on the component damage resulting in a % of internal damage...
My victims already complain about MGs being overpowered when I shred their weapons and leave them as weaponless hulks to toy with as I please. Can't wait to hear them cry even louder!
Edit: Clarified the PPC comment.

I can only guess the crit damage to internal structure is meant to help crit seeking weapons like LBX, MG, etc. but until we have concrete numbers it's hard to say if it will be noticable.
