Like I said in another thread (and others have already said here), the slower firing speed of the Gauss combined with PPCs will mess with pinpoint damage at longer ranges. Plus Gauss have lots of downsides on their own. Small step forward.

There are other weapons out there besides PPC - quit whining, EXPERIMENT, innovate and play them.

Looking at it from a glass-half-full perspective, it seems that the non-RS Atlases are going to get a lot better, comparatively speaking.

Sure, the weapons will still be low slung, but...

Whoever first called this kind of fix a bandaid was absolutely right. PGI is still going to need to address convergence itself to make the problem go away. Especially with the load outs future mechs will be capable of carrying.
