When I see these threads, I can't help but think of Blackadder.

General Melchett thinking to correct way to win a war is to "climb out of the trenches and walk very slowly towards the enemy" reminds me so much of the "thou shalt not cap" crowd.

Quote

Melchett: Good man. Now, Field Marshal Haig has formulated a
brilliant new tactical plan to ensure final victory in the
field. [they gather around a model of the battlefield]

Blackadder: Now, would this brilliant plan involve us climbing out of
our trenches and walking slowly towards the enemy sir?

Darling: How can you possibly know that Blackadder? It's classified
information.

Blackadder: It's the same plan that we used last time, and the
seventeen times before that.

Melchett: E-E-Exactly! And that is what so brilliant about it! We
will catch the watchful Hun totally off guard! Doing
precisely what we have done eighteen times before is
exactly the last thing they'll expect us to do this time!
There is however one small problem.

Blackadder: That everyone always gets slaughtered the first ten
seconds.

Melchett: That's right! And Field Marshal Haig is worried that this
may be depressing the men a tadge. So, he's looking to
find a way to cheer them up.

If anyone is seriously still having problems with capping, they need to figure out why they are playing this game, because it is obviously above their mental ability. Either they aren't bothering to stop a cap in progress, or they have left so many enemies get past them that they deserve to lose. The elimination of defense as a serious consideration has so dumbed down the game as to make any complaint about this kind of victory proof of an inability to have a valid opinion on the subject.

Case closed.

Wow! Nicely put.

I agree with the strategy and reasoning of the base cap. I have no problem with it.

But for those that do:

They could play an alternate Assault mode... http://mwomercs.com/...lt-no-base-cap/

Cap needs to pay better is a bigger problem now. people dont want to cap because of low income. recently we had a match in the bag on alpine, 8-2 up, 500m from enemy base. cap, win, over.

Entire team turned around and ran back to our base (got greedy) and lost the match because the 4 left capped.

cap time on assault is fine. way to long on conquest, and very very not fun.

But pay needs to be reworked, cap wins should still pay as a win, without pushing us back to "everyone just rush the enemy base" every match.

In Alistair Winter's 40 game stats, Caps counted for 10% of wins. So 1 game in 10 is won by cap! Is that really worth crying over?
