Except for being misled, and some of us not caring about the aspects you name.
As I said earlier, it's still not an AWFUL deal, but it isn't the deal it appeared to be. It's ponderously close to bait&switch/false advertising, regardless of overall dollar value.
I'm STILL bordering on tempted, but really only because I think there's going to be a blowup over this and they'll eventually cave and let people sell/delete the standard variants while keeping the mech bays.

Maybe a misunderstanding about the mechanics of the standard variant bays, but there is in no way a bait and switch going on. You are going to get everything they promise, whether or not you can sell the standard variants.

Yup, enjoy those crap Locusts if you (like I) were dumb enough to shell out $80 for them...otherwise they can be sold.
Nice of PGI to not once mention this during the "big sale dayz."
yep unfortunatly i shelled out the money planning on selling all but the phoenix variants(even tho id only use the battlemaster phoenix anyhow) and the battlemasters. i couldnt care less about the stupid medallions and premium time.

Bait and switch is only one prohitibed conduct. There's also misrepresentation and misleading/deceptive conduct.
From day 1 the game has operated on the premise that all normal variants can be sold, freeing up a bought mechbay. There has been no behaviour in the past or presently that contradicts this nor any indication from PGI to restrict it in the future. We've been operating on an established behaviour.
Forum posters have very publicly telling would be purchasers that you get 12 mechbays and that you can empty the normal variant ones but not the Phoenix ones..... going by current and past practices. They've been stating this on the official forums no less.
NO PGI staff have come on and countered any of these posts, none to come on and even say "Hang on, I'm not sure that's right". Not even to cast doubt.
No, they let it go on - on their official forums.
There is a strong case for misrep, misleading/deceptive conduct by omission.
I'm not sure of Canada's legislation but their legal system is still based of the old English version, as is Australia's.
So I'm quite certain that there is a strong case here for a refund at the very least and a pretty good one thatcan be brought before whatever consumer watchdog operates in Canada.

Read the part that says "fairly unlikely." Still no official announcement, especially prior to the "big sale."
Seems a bit unethical to me, but I may be in the minority, that's fine too.
I personally think its still good value and have not regretted buying overlord - I'm looking forward to my BM and SH.
But this sort of behaviour is unethical, unintended or not.
More so now that it's come into the public light but still no public announcement on their part or any amendment to their PP advertisement page or FAQ.
It's just not right.

Indeed. It's the price for a new AAA release.
Uh, $20 dollars MORE than that price. Dunno where you live lol. In US it's $60 for a brand new Xbox/Playstation game. That's dumb if you can't sell the crappy mechs. "Free mech bays" lol yeah cause the $80 isn't enough. I was on the fence about the 60 pack, but this is the final nail in the coffin. I don't think I'll be supporting this game financially anymore. I've done enough. Besides I just spent that much at bass pro!

Lol they already made the money... So what if players want to free up some space to grind for new mechs to put in those bays they free up, that'll keep them playing longer than "oh, I have 45,000 XP after master on this mech but I can't sell it. Well. Time to play something else.

for those of you who were close to buying this but changed your mind since hearing that we won't be able to sell unwanted mechs perhaps you could message support and say just that. then maybe if enough of you were to metion why you are not buying this package they could possible thing to change their stance on the "free" mechbays

but the medallions will help when it comes to community warfare, so it wouldn't be bad to have

No issues with Money --> MC --> Mech --> Cbills, but for some reason Money --> Mech --> Cbills is somehow giving us too much?
No free mech bays. Fine I kinda get that since we don't even get mechbays with Hero Mechs (but really PGI should have said SOMETHING about that in the Project Phoenix FAQ...)
But being unable to sell the standard variants is just asinine.
I spent $80 because:
1. Wanted to support MWO ...still
2. Early access to new mechs
3. Mechs with bonuses
4. Selling the standard variants for cbills when I'm done with them
5. 12 Mechbays. Notice I didn't say ''free'' mech bays...
So right now I've lost reason 4 & 5. 1 is disappearing as well.

Every single game you've ever bought is pixel trash.
Don't project your cheapass bitterness over something that is basically a separate issue from the actual game itself.

Could you imagine you have bought the Overlord pack and you recieved the 4 pheonix ones in their own mech bays and then a message pops up, the other variants will be sent once you have room in your mechbays, or you can buy more here....... Then there would be a shitstorm.
The only thing i can complain about the mechbay's is not recieving one with the hero mech purchases.

They should have been clear about this from the start, meh... I'll still support the game, but they really need to up their game on the communication front if they don't want to end up with an EA-like cash grabber reputation...
