No noticeable change in the gameplay meta due to this patch.

Streaks are still considered useless. PPC/Gauss dominate the fields and the main buidls still are AC40 and 3PPC/Gauss or 4 PPC.

THIS HEAT SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK AS INTENDED.

Saw a Jager w/ ac/20 and gauss.

NOTICABLE CHANGE IN BUILDS.

Did you even play a match, or are you expecting guass/ppc to just disappear?

It will have to be subjected to the same restrictions.

The King Crab isn't the only dual AC-20 mech from lore. Hunchback IIC comes to mind.

Single shot AC/20 or burst AC/20? It's two big differences. ;)

Overall this patch looks promising.

SRMs, in my opinion, didn't need a buff. I found them very useful in mediums already... frequently I could score 2-4 kills and 400-500 damage in a cent as they were. I'll reserve final judgment till I test them out though... but my concern is they will be too strong now.

While I am not sure yet about how all the heat and stacking weapons will work out, I am grateful PGI is trying to steer the game back to multi shot kills - rather than a one shot one kill solo hero game. I hope this adjustment works, though it appears to me alpha convergance is more the issue that needs to be addressed than just adding more heat. The overheat damage at 100... wow. Will have to see how this affects gameplay. Didn't stop me from alphing before when I took internal damage at 120 percent...

A guy above commented on an energy bar to power energy weapons. That could potentially stop the high alpha sniper issue, in that you would not have enough energy to fire 4+ ppcs, ever. Interesting idea for sure.

- Fixed an issue were Streaks rockets would appear to 'orbit' on client machines.

NOOOO!!!!! lol I loved this effect! hahahah it was very entertaining!

I'm still hoping for a volume decrease (at the least) on the weapon sounds. I still have my sound practically off for the game because these sounds are so painfully loud. I can't hear anything except the gongs clanging... err weapons firing now. I miss hearing my engine and foottsteps. If volume is adjusted and people still want to blow their ears out they can always turn the volume up... I would just love to be able to hear the rest of the game again.

So now that we take damage the second we go over 100% heat why bother with the mech shutdown mechanic? The entire point of mech shutdown is to protect the mech and pilot from heat damage. If someone overrides the shut down then by all means damage away, but if the mech shutdown then it shouldn't be taking damage. Have the heat dissipate slower until it gets back to 100% or below that way they are at risk for longer, but don't add arbitrary damage.

I know, right? I've been saying this since they announced damage over 100% heat! It's silly.

I have a Jager Ac40 cheese build and I'm fine with this new patch. I don't use him hardly cause they die so quick from XL engine torso hits anyways. Plus I do much better in my Yen Lo Wang Ac20 Cent and Hunchback AC20. Liking the new patch notes...will have to test tonight.

That's because both of you don't have a clue.

The new damage over 100% is miniscule. It's on the order of 1-3 points every 1.5s only to CT.

You know how much overriding shutdown does? You should try it, it's insane and will vote your mech in seconds, setting off ammo and destroying all your internals everywhere.

If I suck at scubadiving and it made me ill, I don't demand they **** up the hobby for everyone. I just stop scuba diving and do something else.

If you suck at MW, and can't handle JJ's then don't demand they **** it up for the people that want to run jump jets, just stop playing and do something else.

That argument can go just as easily both ways. Why should they bother with trying to make the game playable for people who are color blind?

Quite simply its to appeal to the greatest possible audience. If a certain action causes some people to become ill, or have epileptic seizures, or is hard for a segment to use, its is a very poor business decision not to make adjustments so that your software is more usable.

What gives you the right to play the game and them not?

They were catering to your inability to deal with jump snipers when they introduced JJ shake to begin with. They aren't even really letting poptarts aim any easier with this change. It is decoupled from the fact the round/laser/whatever doesn't go straight.

Well, that's clan tech. God knows how they are going to balance clan mechs and clan tech in general. Right now the only IS mech that should be able to field AC 40s is the King Crab because it actually has severe disadvantages (including loooow speed, which makes getting into range difficult) that more than make up for the firepower.

You, Sir, should have a talk with Homeless Bill about his "targeting computer" gameplay balance mechanic. You will like it.

Minty here is one of those jump-snipers. What I think he meant was this: If you get violently ill when you go underwater, don't go SCUBA diving. #context #yolo

Let's add an incredibly unintuitive mechanic that doesn't solve any problems that ends up nerfing brawling more than it nerfs snipers, the overwhelmingly dominant playstyle in the game.

Hail Lucifer, Lord of Hell.

I know full well what it is, and I still think it is stupid. I am ok with lots of damage when you override, but I am not ok with any damage when shutdown since that is the entire point of the mechanic. If you want damage for anything over 100% at all times just do away with the shutdown mechanic because it has been made redundant.

So having played for the past two hours, it does seem like getting hit with a **** ton of damage to a single location is a lot less common. I'm having a much easier time spreading the damage over the rest of my mech. Maybe it worked? Different projectile speeds and all that I guess? If anything I'm shocked I'm not seeing more 2PPC+2ER PPC stalkers right now.

Yes, his idea is innovative and would address Alpha's, not just boating.
