Also I'm assuming LL amd ML include their pulse counterparts?
We're still going to see 2xERPPC + 2xPPC + 2xLL ..... not as nasty but will hurt ;-)

Because there is no heat scaling applied to those builds. 4xac2 will overheat quickly but dont have the high alpha problem of 2xAC20.
This all still doesn't address the twin Gauss puppies out there.... they still need something done. I am strongly in favour of a torso twist speed penalty to reduce their effectiveness in brawling and represent thier huge size.

After some limited play today on a brawler jagermech (yay SRM buff), I have found the long range sniping to be quite bearable. I had a match where I and a bunch of brawler teammates crossed a huge open area in alpine to close the distance on a few ppc boats. Sure we took some hits, but there was no instant destroying of Torso armor. people had to take more shots, which equaled more spread out damage and even a few more misses.
Once we got into mid-close range, things seemed to get worse for them. The cockpit shake from our SRM's and AC's seemed to mess with their shots even more. Sure they are throwing out essentially the "same DPS", but I think this change HAS helped the concentrated pinpoints of super high damage.
I am not saying this has now fixed all the problems, but it has seemed to help quite a bit at spreading out that pinpoint damage
Having said that, I think they DID nerf the large lasers WAY too hard.

Then there is a significant bug in how AC2s work. On testing grounds, if you have 4x AC2 linked to 2 firing groups that you fire .25 seconds apart, there is a point in the heat buildup where it jumps significantly. Firing off 2x AC2 should generate ~3-4% heat for example, but I'm observing that at some point it will generate almost 20% in a single volley of 2 AC2 rounds, but then taper off again. Oddly enough, it seems to always jump from 27% to 48%. Group firing all 4 AC2s together doesn't seem to generate the same absurd heat buildup.
Unrelated issue though, I guess. Might be some bug that slipped in. Sending in a ticket.

SRM damage increased from 1.5 to 2.0
(Note: This is for SRMs only, not SSRMs)
My Atlas REALLY, REALLY didnt need this.
In fact, considering how few SSRMs you can have, i wouldve thought they could've used a buff instead. Dont think im just bandwagoning when i crush ur mech. SRMs, in great enough numbers, were monsters before.

i appreciate that:
- you introduced HSA
- you tried to buff SRM, cuz they were (nearly) useless
- you gave us a new mech (victor)
- you optimized the overheat-damage and understood that there i no sense in splitting the point of dealing damage
- you optimized the flight path of ssrm. much better now
- you gave us a map-menu for testing grounds
- i did not lost fps, as after the last patches
i dont like:
- the tangible values for HSA. seems like developed between lunch and 12 pm (just take a look in posts before: 6 ML > why you punish the buyers of hero-hunchback?; 2 LL > never knew that boating 3 of them were a prob for meta game; same point with srm2, possible ac2-bug, and so on... i hope you can fix some probs on july 30th
- the prob with the HSR. SRM-buff won't really help on this. we all hope you can fix this soon (best before official launch).
- independently from HSR you need to buff SRM. but not the dmg; faster cooldown OR lower heat would be better. now we have a great disbalance in dmg per ton (on ammo)!
- the resurrection of poptarts. i hope this were just some real pros or lucky shots, we met tonight... we need some more days on this.
- at least the decreasing river of information out of the general and creative development corner (still no creative director update...). maybe it is just my (wrong) perception, maybe it is just the season or maybe you think you have to hold some things back for official launch as a "suprise"??? the latter you should not do, thus you can easily see with the HSA, that you need the feedback of the community for every part of the game in perspective to official launch. The millions of new players, which will then take a look on your product, mostly won't give them a second chance... (by the way, your forum-servers are already die on the actual workload!)
overall rating: 7 pro vs 5 cons... seems like a good one.
best regards from GOWAR

We live in world full of technical restrictions: my MV Agusta can't ride on dirt, my Transalp shows bad lap times on track. On society world lack of restrictions leads to anarchy or/and bandit laws, no? This is the game that needs balance restrictions for sake of MWOs long happy life. There are weight restricions, heat restrictions, engine restrictions - and it's normal. So if the boating problem exists and can't be solved normaly - hardpoint restrictions is the way to solve it. Not elegant solution but effective.

I can wait because the performance improvements worked the opposite of intended with my framerate dropping 4-5 fps on almost every map.

PGI, one minus point for not explaining the system properly in the patch notes. Multiplicator? Aha, nice... and now?
This said, the penalty system, while flawed, is better than nothing.
Adjustments should be made for the LL (at least 3 should be fired without penalty) and the penalty for the AC20 seems a bit harsh. Now here the artificial 'whack-a-mole' strikes at the finest.
I like the SRM damage of 2.0, brawling becomes now better. But please consider the following. When HSR will be fixed and damage reduced again, the ammo supply of SRM should be adjusted (read: increased) accordingly.
SRM were until yesterday the only weapon (besides MG), which had less damage value per ton of ammo compared to the TT. And this with doubled armor values and a weapon which delivers NO pinpoint damage.
I didn't tested SSRMs, so no judgement here, but when Streaks don't aim for the CT exclusively, their damage could be also raised to 2.0, IMHO.
I'd like to see adjustments for
(ER)PPC --> slightly increasing heat (9/13) as a first step, maybe 10/15 later
Reducing of the LBX cone (preferably another damage model)
End of nerfing Pulse Lasers, especially the LPL
Decreasing heat of the M(P)L to their TT values.

Either this or some of you guys are really really disappointed about the development of this game. I can't understand so much negative energy, though I see some of your points.
Maybe the game just needs more time, yet the main-direction seems to be right, doesn't it? Release is in focus now and after that, details are following, I'm pretty sure. Maybe the release date is set too early, but PGI like all the other developers take part in the same game and the name of the game is money.
Stay constructive as most of you are, but calm down and be patient. At least the devs and their decisions are not the only reason, players are leaving, but also the very bad atmosphere in the community!

As for all the crying about Dual AC20's and PPC Boaters I mean I understand but, I've never found them a problem and actually found them easy enough to deal with. Don't get me wrong I love my Jagers, but never once have I put an AC20 on them, nor found ppc that enjoyable to use.
Two of my favourite builds I enjoyed playing are now shelved and will have to deal with them later, neither of which OP. One being a 4xLL K-2 and the other a 9xML HBK-4P set up the exactly as the champion variant and to whom payed MC credits for the chamopion variant I feel sorry for them. Was always fun throwing 9xMLS down range, I mean its still viable but just not as enjoyable. During some testing I did, I have a feeling people will be crying about SRM's next, eh just my two cents. So it's back to Dakka Dakka's for me.
Do you always alpha strike with them?
I personally use the hunchie. I never ever alpha w/ him. I split it up so i fire 3-4 lasers per shot.
The build is far from dead.

Try playing for half a year with constant crash and HUD bugs. Try getting broken promise after broken promise. Try getting your opinions ignored. Try having general forums removed for being negative. A move which is as far as I know unprecedented. Try reading the tone in the patch note after the forum reaction to the new heat system.
Don't worry, you'll get there too if you hang around long enough

I've been here longer than you.
The only thing I HATE about this game is the forums.
It is things like your post that drive people away. Completely non-constructive and hostile.
If you want to know what's wrong with this game, look in the mirror.

And you are helping how?
I gave an explanation because he thought the toxic ones were paid anti-shills. My post contained nothing but fact and not much emotion. Though I am very happy at the moment since I can use my beloved brawlers again. I can even take a medium and smash face. Lights and mediums were always my favorites so it is incredibly good to be able to use them again. But even that is still bittersweet since the change that has now _finally_ been implemented could've been in the game for the past 3+ months. If the guy responsible hadn't been such a stubborn donkey (in three letters).
Also, constructive gets you nowhere. The only thing that's done anything visible was the magnificent fire on the forums during one LRM apocalypse. Most people who are now toxic were plenty constructive before the devs started deviating from their design documents and ignored balance advice etc. etc.

You're right.
Why would I or anyone else subject themselves to the venom on these forums.
Let PGI know that you and your kind are the reason that people leave this game.
