I am cursed to be in the lowest of the low in ELO.

I have just lost 29 straight matches in my Misery. We either lose 8-0 or I get the only kills minus the steals the short bus janitors take from me.

Twenty Nine straight losses.

I spectate, only to see these people stand still while being gunned down, spinning in circles while missing all their shots by 6 feet or ignoring / heckling any polite direction they are given.

My only hope is to miraculously win 200 matches, so it appears I will be stuck in this herpa derp bracket for as long as I continue to play this game and losing every match BADLY is not fun.

Not one bit.

I paid for PP like a chump, and I really don't know what to do if this is to be my future....I only solo drop because my weird hours curtail my ability to drop in with my unit members.

How do I keep playing when I'm doomed to be on "teams" of people who shoot LRMs at targets eleven meters away from them while never moving? Every match is a heartbreaker in a game I want so desperately to fall in love with again.

People have mentioned they have gotten refunds on the Phoenix Package, could contact support.

Aside from that, you are probably screwed.

1 question: are you PPC spammer?
If you are - that's typical situation: PPC spam were nerfed and you are ineffective now, be strong and your ELO will back to normal.

I don't want a refund though, all I truly want is to have fun playing this game again.

But due to my being a slow learner early in my Mechwarrior career, I am doomed to live out my entire gaming existence on teams that do 0-65 damage if they don't just DC as soon as the match begins!

You're probably right, Nicholas, I'm just screwed.....

PPC spam wasn't nerfed yet, if you mount 2 ER PPC's and 2 PPC's or 1 ER PPC and 2 PPC's it circumvents the system for the time being.

So that wouldn't effect it.

And 29 losses in a row means ELO is not working. That should never really happen, especially if a majority of games were 8-0.

The match maker frankly sucks.

Do you go into teamspeak and try to find a 4 man? Even if it's not your unit? Or is that out of the question as well?

Could help some what, random 4 mans still tend to be better than straight up soloing.

hm.. I think you will have to hop on TS and search for random groups with one spot open...do that until your ELO is somewhat better and you can go off pugging again

I don't normally talk much on teamspeak because my kids and wife are around. Listening is more than enough as long as your other team members are calling targets and such.

Yeah, 29 in a row is really harsh, impossible I would think. I guess the only thing the OP can do is try to team up with some people on the weekends or something. I'd drop with him if I see him on.

Before today, 17 in a row was my record. I have lost 2/3 of my 1000+ matches in this ELO bracket.

I am truly a damned soul now....

ELO should also be match score based. I've been saying that forever. I can show you a few screen shots where my match score was the highest in the game but my team lost. Why should my ELO go down for doing well even though my team lost?

Because that's the way they implemented it. Only W/L matters.

Try and organize a Pug. Ya its hard but if ya make since a lot will follow a lead. Also remember you have 4 ELO scores one for each weight group. Are you in a new mech that could be effecting the matches you have had. When I crossed into Assaults I had really bad streak of matches 20 loss in a row finally after catching some good groups and some decent pugs it changed now its about 50/50 again. Wins / Losses 1,146 / 1,105

Nope I'm farming my Misery for the 30% bonus plus my Early Bird PP Premium Time.

My Stalker & Hunchbacks are all mastered, over 500 matches on my Misery alone!

Tough breaks then. I guess I know Misery is a high value target given most run it with 1 Gauss Rifle 2ERPPC and now 1PPC till they are linked in same group. People are probably dropping Purely based on being a possible High Alpha Build not looking at the load out just the mech. As for you times of play just try to get in on at least 4 man groups in a TS channel. Or like I said try and herd the pugs. I know its a hard task in asking but I try and establish them and I am surprised how well it works sometimes. I've had pugs thank me at the end because we have beat a syc drop or four mans this way. It does not always happen but it does sometimes.

Ive been mostly out of the loop for a while, but shouldnt ELO work in a way that a low ELO scored player should be going in to matches with good players on his side and as such winning?

Im pretty sure that if you are in a low ELO bracket the game is trying to stack the odds in your favor not against you by grouping you with herpderpers. In theory it should act kind of like adding all the ELO scores on your team and matching you against an enemy team with a similar sum of ELO scores

Or am i completely wrong and ELO is devided by brackets and it just puts you in a generalized bracket with equal ELO scored players on both sides?

*edit* Also on a side note, if you find that you are losing more than you should (nowhere near 50/50 win/loss) maybe (and i hate to say it) its you...an assault mech piloted poorly is quite a big hit to the teams chances of winning. Maybe you should consider piloting a medium or a heavy until you learn the ropes.

*edit2* Although seeing as you have almost 400 posts you should be quite adapt at piloting a mech which would make the first edit invalid.

All I know is that while spectating, if I didn't know better, I'd swear these people were deliberately doing everything possible to do no damage and die ugly.

Just watching it makes my eyes bleed!

I BEG them to cap/back cap, focus fire, spot for our LRMs, etc., but off they go to herpa derpa land, either ignoring me or typing responses that basically say "go F yourself, I know what I'm doing!"

And yes, I'm polite and say please a lot!
