I back the Urbanmech's appearance in this game! "Variety is the Spice of Battle*", and I can think of little else spicier than the Urbanmech.

I like the Urby in table top, don't really care if it makes the first cut here. But I did love the comics in this thread

It's a light mech with a boomstick. What's not to like about that?

If you really want to put the hurting on something theres even a variant with an AC/20

Really, you can't have urban combat without an Urbanmech. You just can't. They'd be crazy to leave it out.

My vote for the Urbanmech. That inglorious little bucket.

If the game ever lives to the Jihad era, I want to see UM-AIV with the... ahem... special ammo.

Signing on for the Urbie Brigade. It's necessary for Mechwarrior.

Don't be a hater! Though the Urbie might arrive later, it's got a gun that's ever bit as big as one from the Annhilator!

That's a minor concern, skiled mechwarriors need not worry about things like that. Pluis the Urbie can JUMP!

I love it. I for one would love to camp out in a blown-out building and lie in ambush, waiting for a critical head-shot on a Champion.

I think including the Ubanmech would be sweet! I really hope they have some of the less common 'mechs, at least eventually.

The Urbanmech is one of the most cost-effective, BV-effective units for city fighting, even in its original configuration. Then, if you consider that there were models that mounted things like the AC20, RAC5, LBX10, UAC10, MRM30, and even an Arrow IV launcher, it becomes obvious that this mech is a nice, inexpensive asset that a commander can afford to use to its full potential, due to the low cost of its replacement.

Then, if you go further into it, Clan Coyote saw fit to upgrade it for garrison/second-line duty. They did not completely rework the design like most of the IIC chassis; they pretty much slapped on Clan weaponry (Clan UAC10 and ER Small Laser), increased its speed and jump capacity, and called it a day. Later on, the Hell's Horses replaced the weaponry with a Hyper Assault Gauss 20 and a Clan Flamer.

In short, while the Urbanmech may not have the rich and storied history that the spotlight mechs like the Atlas and Warhammer all have, it has a place, and an important role, here. Whether or not it fulfills this role at launch is entirely up to the timetable and resources with which the devs are working, but I sincerely hope this mech makes it into the game at, or shortly after, launch.

I'd love to see an Urban. The Atlas needs something to step on.
