Also, I wouldn't pin any hopes on getting one really much sooner as a result of anything that comes out of this town hall. The best I could hope for is that no more valuable programmer time is wasted on silly things like the heat scaling system, instead of the features that we all really do want, like lobbies and CW.

(and it isn't that I don't trust Hylius to bring it up, but my concern in whether he will have the opportunity)
Boating and the new heat system.
Boating in inevitable and trying to get rid of boating is impossible. Even many stock mechs were boats, and when you introduce a totally artificial and fake and convoluted and terrible mechanic like the new heat system, you do nothing to prevent boating, you simply shift the meta to the next best available boat that doesn't violate the heat system. There will always be boats - boats are what MWO will be, no matter what else is attempted. The goal needs to be to create an ecosystem where we can see a wide variety of different types of boats, and teams field a mixture of different boats, rather than trying to create a needlessly complicated and convoluted restriction on what things are allowed to be boated effectively. Gamers will almost always gravitate towards specialization in any sim or shooter, or almost any online game. Trying to fight this totally natural competitive thought process is the wrong way to approach weapon balance. The focus should be on giving each type of weapon a specialized purpose that doesn't completely override a different type of weapon, so there are lots of different choices about what to boat. Trying to make everyone run things with 4+ weapons groups is never going to find success among the competitive players.
I also have more points about new player experience, lobby systems, community involvement (modding/map editors), but I suspect they are fine with those arguments.

Could we just throw the lobby thing out there, as an after all the other unknown and un-worked on problems?

I'm 100% sure someone will bring it up.

You're making an accusation here, and I'd like you to back it up. Otherwise, stop throwing your personal issues into the fray. This isn't a thread for you to hate on goons because your brother's cousin's little kid once got scammed by a goon in Eve.

Even if this was an attempt at trolling (and you'd probably have to be dense to believe that if you'd bothered to read the 17+ pages of totally legitimate and understandable opinions brought forward by goons) I don't even get how it would work?
I mean, do the goons get 30+ corp leaders and representatives and then say "Haha, psych!" and kick everyone from the teamspeak? It's kind of funny, I guess, but they put more effort into setting it up than anyone participating did by showing up.
Do they send an angry bitter letter to PGI that doesn't actually voice any opinions or concerns? They could do that without all the wasted effort of setting up the town hall.
And if they make a letter, consisting of a general consensus of opinions from many of the most prominent merc corps and players in the community, voicing sincere concerns about the direction of MWO and the quality of the game, then isn't that exactly what we all want?
I just fail to see the "Goons are bad" logic here. What is it that you think they are up to, if not a sincere concern over the direction of MWO (one that countless non-Goons are also voicing).

There is no alternative agenda or thoughts to overthrow the government, but an earnest desire to rally a bunch of people, and show PGI we care, and we have some serious issues.
Ultimately, as previous attempts to rally groups together, and give PGI a message, they've ignored it. Some KaoS reps will be there. If this was any other franchise I guarantee 80% of us would have dropped this game months ago, and never came back.
Their are three reasons why PGI/IGP wont get any more of my money. Their mods, the complete lack of communication, and lack of knowledge of any form of balance. It's up to them to convince me otherwise, but right now all of it is going to steam and Star Citizen.

Not that I'm surprised. Best of luck Lowtax.
It makes me sad to see all these great teams erode away from frustration and mistreatment from PGIs poor choices and failures. I also saw that there's supposed to be a creative director update tomorrow. I'm still hopeful, but I get more skeptical every month.
Long live MWO

I hope to see something meaningful come out of this and avoid becoming a PGI/mod/community bashfest.

I got stuck on liking your post or telling you to take care of yourself first, so I'm just going with both.
