Okay everyone calm down about the victor scores...There isn't anything fishy about them, Proton just spammed as many games as he could. He went suicidal aggressive in every game I saw him in, and if things went bad he would immediately disconnect and start a new match with an alternate mech. Nothing in the rules against that, and I certainly would not call it cheating. This challenge is begging you to play as many games as you can, and that is an effective method. To avoid the game-spamming you just have to rework the rules. Have a game maximum, or go by average score-per-game given a minumum # of games, etc.

Anyway, let's forget about the Victor thing and now let's celebrate the fact that I won a mechbay.

Also, someone in the top-5 of the Light Leaderboard (not naming) is a confirmed tournament teamkiller who killed me (several alphas to the back, including overheating to get the final kill) in order to save his friend who was also in the top 5.

I am surprised to see his name there, because I reported his actions 3 days ago and included indisputable evidence from a clip from my livestream that he teamkilled me, you could even see him shooting at my dead body when the game switched to my death-cam. His doing that totally took the wind out of my sails that night, and really crushed my motivation to maintain my #1 spot. I hope that justice is served and that he doesn't take home the same prize that I do from this tournament.

You should provide the proof that is not refutable. You say you were TK'ed, I do not think so. So if you were TKed then prove it. making unfounded accusations is just crying over split milk. Report it to the Dev's through support.

You complain about an aggressive player and in the same sentence you fail to realize that his skill is 4 times higher than yours. For some people that play style works, Proton is just one of them. There are many other players in this game that play cheese builds and cheat the system, why not report them?

Otherwise quit complaining and play more games so that you can raise your skill level to Protons.

I have played with and against Proton many times and he is an outstanding leader and player. He has never employed dubious tactics and I would gladly play against him or with him again.

Very unusual PEEFsmash...every single time I dropped against or with Proton, he did not disconnect. Where you visually impaired by getting smashed from some PEEF? Or is it just a standard tactic of yours naming players after a tournament, and in the next sentence attempting to be oh so politically correct again by not naming them...but maybe you were just smashed from PEEFing again and it cannot be held against you...

He said nothing about Proton, or can you lot not read. Many tourney players were DC'n the minute they died in a match and jumping in another mech to get as many games as possible.

Strange post. You clearly have some post-tournament angst.

I am still looking for an explanation from PGI why the Victor scores are absent.

I can honestly say there are cheaters in this game but there is also several honestly good players. Proton is a truly honest and a good player. He was in fact having connection issues this weekend causing the game to drop to desktop or lose packets. Which I am certain this has happened to many of us several times. So to assume he or other players are cheating by seeing "... has disconnected" is not a valid statement. I am certain that PGI has the network tools that can prove Proton's and others innocence. If they check the logs and see packet losses and error reports coming from his client. Besides playing more games per the contest will hurt your over all ability to win. So... let PGI do their job and stop complaining when others mop the floor with your mech in the tourney.

So does it mean that some one just called me a cheater? Following this logic everyone who took first place in tourney is a cheater. I was DC'ing because I was having connection issues with MWO servers since Friday. My ping would rise up from usual 130-140 to 300 in the middle of the fight and then I'd lose session and disconnect. I had to wait like 15-20 minutes before it would get back to normal to be able to finaly log in back to the game client. Those who were watching my stream have seen that happen to me.

If you are happy with your prize good for you. But I still want to receive my prize. Because it was really hard for me to keep up in two sections. In the last tournament I took first place in Jagers. For this one I decided to take part in different challenges. I believe I deserve to be awarded the prizes that I have earned.

I think that the community that PGI is cultivating in MWO is toxic and whiney, "Ohh no Proton is better then me i better say he is cheating and get my clan to say the same" are you kidding me? whats worse is PGI listens to this instead of just realising that pilits who suck make up for it with words and empty accusations.

It was?

Methinks there is a bit of marketing speak going on here.

Not to reiterate everything that has been said in this thread but Proton has always been playing suicidal aggressive. We just try to keep him alive while he obliterates the other team that's it.

As for DC'ing the moment you die bit. Any way you look at it I don't see a problem here. Proton really had internet connection issues this weekend (as evidenced but his twitch stream) so if anything he was against even greater odds than the rest of the winners :D Also it was such a derby with JackAttack5.

This I have to agree with. It's simply not a good sport. Even if we have nothing in the rules against that kind of behavior it can't be reinforced by allowing those who do it take one of the winning places in the leader board.

Well, pretty self explanatory there, Rippthrough, do I even need to comment on YOUR reading skills?

No what PEEF said was nothing about slamming Proton, he broke down the most likely way Proton played to achieve the best possible results from the tournament, which like most board leaders doesn't surprise me (this trick has been going ever since these started). I don't see anything offense in what PEEF said, so no idea why people are so upset because people seemed unable to disconnect the 2 paragraphs of information into separate blocks.

As it is these tournaments are a waste of time, they STILL only promote selfish behavior and gameplay, they STILL only reward those who can play vast amounts of games, and whilst the scoring is tighter they STILL promote kill stealing and assist tagging.

I may not of placed in the top 5, but still feel I did quite well in the heavy bracket with my Jager S, which by the way I was running with only four AC2's... which is currently bugged giving me more heat then I should due to the recycle rate.

Mine are fine. There's nothing derogatory in Peef's posts, in fact if anything he's trying to dismiss the chinese whispers floating around that Proton was cheating - people just don't like success I suppose.

No, they do not, since the context the previous posters was obviously assuming Peef was being derogatory.
When reading, context is everything, and it is that I was responding to.

It is not necessary to paraphrase everything in the english language when you are continuing a conversation.

I give up...
How do I start a Kickstarter for Rippthrough to offer him some desperately needed lessons on the semantics of the English language?
