You want easy .... buy console games, this is not meant to be an arcade game. It's a skill based game, you need to develop the skills to play it. I'm not trying to be a big meanie, but why should a skill game most of us enjoy for that fact have to be dumbed down to suit someone who wants a generic arcade game to play. I'm sorry, but I think you have a choice to make, work at the game like the rest of us, or go play something that's already easy. If you want to play MWO then you need to learn how to play it and spend the time doing the work to get better. People who want MWO to be easy are the people who tend to ruin the skilled game play by convincing the devs to dumb it down for them, like those that cry about OP weapons and systems till they start rewriting the rules of the game to help the helpless (BAP counters ECM..BS). Learn to play with skill

This is sad but true and unfortunately seems to has saturated the entire MMO market, not just MWO. It all started with WoW which dumbed down MMO gameplay to capture the casual market. They accomplished their goal but darn near destroyed the entire MMO genre in the process.

Just say no, to no skill required.

Best advice given to most new pilots is "Follow the Atlas". When you start, find a nice, big assault mech in your group, and follow them. Target what they target, and flank if you get the chance, and it's safe. This has two benefits, one being that you have someone near you who is a bigger threat, and the other being that it keeps you from over-extending.

Whether troll or not, I have to applaud the community for the amount of help offered so quickly.

Yeah, bored tonight and thought I might find some tips I missed (not near as bad as OP troll, but still learning). You've all showed infinite patience. Nothing I don't already know, but kind of entertaining nonetheless. In earnest, hats off to you all for trying to help someone figure this thing out.

I agree. But with this experience in mind (it was my first attempt to help a newbie) I will think twice next time to do so. I feel like he just wasted my time and good will.

Nah, don't think twice about being helpful to those who ask. Maybe they think they were making you look silly. Others (the ones who matter) will think they were making you look like a decent human being.

I just don't understand whats to be gained from trolling in this fashion. Theres just got to be better things to do vwith ones time.

I picked up on it pretty quick. Back before the interweb, a friend and I used to call late night infomercial numbers and act like we wanted to buy, but couldn't figure out how. The goal was to get the salesperson on the other end to lose it. I got one woman to shout that I was "f*ckyng ********" before she hung up. She was selling Bibles, go figure. Juvenile, but then we were just that, a couple of kids. They say youth is wasted on the young.

Also consider the possibility that the OP was just a very lonely person looking to make some contact and feel "rescued by strangers." That sounds weird, I know. But my girlfriend is a psych major and is working her thesis on "deviant internet behavior;" you'd be amazed at all the strange things people do online under the blanket of anonymity.

Anyway, it's good to know you all are out here helping out.

Unless, of course, it's a trial Atlas. "The blind leading the blind" and all of that.

Doesn't matter; even if he immolates himself in a pyre of fire and shame, he's still absorbing damage while you hit the enemy. If you let him go totally alone, you just lose 100 tons of combat weight.
