Yeah, when PGI says something it usually equates to a whole lot of nothing.
I've designed software, so I know how little you tend to want to say on things like that. Too many things change at the 11th hour. Still, I know your frustration.

Still no sign of UI 2.0. How long can they truly drag that out? I get the feeling it will be the major "launch" feature that really doesn't add anything to the game (as far as I can tell considering we have very little information on it).
When is launch again? September?
I've seen lots of screenshots of the UI 2.0 and most of it is self-explanatory. I think they will release it just before "launch" because if half of the PCs have an issue with it, they will want to know before the launch date. And I believe that's September 17th.
I'm looking forward to it just because the currently UI is very rudimentary.
I'm more curious to see the CW and what additional modes we will have.

Everything PGI posts is met with, "Wahhhh they told us NOTHING." What do you want them to tell you, exactly? Even when they answer your questions in ATD, people ***** and moan! It's like people have decided BEFOREHAND that they will refuse to acknowledge that their question was answered adequately. Do you want them to tell you what color their **** is?! I'm torn between calling you grouchy, chronic malcontent old men, and whiny little children. The incessant ***** gets old after a while, guys.
May I also say, what the **** makes you think you know ANYTHING about what size the player base is? The people that actually have access to the numbers say it's growing. You will forgive me if I go with their word over yours. Sorry if I was rude.

So, Community Warfare (also known as "the entirety of the reason to play the game") can be broken down into three parts:
Association (Reputation Grinding)
Growth (Achievements)
Conquest (Actual gameplay, which remains nebulous until a system of planets/zones is incorporated to replace the handful of maps we have to play in now)
There's no information in this post, none at all! Here's what we want answered:
What form, if any, will the playable and controllable areas of the game take? Will there be a network of planets accessable via dropship, or will it just be a series of maps? What benefits will controlling areas actually give, if any? (Points on some leaderboard do not count as "benefits". If it's just "X faction has X wins on MapA", that's not a benefit.) How will control of areas change hands? How will the current "gameplay" of Assault and Conquest fit in to community warfare?
In short, what are any of us doing in this game?

It is a step in the right, albeit slow paced, direction. I think they're trying to avoid making changes that will outright break weapons like in the past.

I hope they can consider lowering Heat Threshold/Capacity (way too high right now IMHO) and slightly raising Heat Dissipation (still a bit too slow for many DPS builds).
Ideally, these two changes (along with a tweaked Heat Scale Penalty system) can make it so that stock mechs can actually work with their standard loadouts (compared to how they are generally inferior right now) and give more trade-offs with our various custom builds, so that you can still use single bursts of high pin-point damage as we have it now, but so we can also depend on high DPS weapons with better frequency and reliability then with how they can be tricky to sustain (or simply inferior) against high pin-point damage builds.
And I hope they have something in mind for replacing the Pilot Lab - Mech Efficiencies to be far more dynamic to each variant, and not give such large boosts to mech traits/ feel/ functionality when only Elited, as we currently have. For example, I can live with replacing/removing Speed Tweak (and tweaking the engine caps for mechs 20 tons to 40 tons) to provide more trade-offs between speed and firepower for any mech, since I think that is partly why Heavies and Assaults as such a common sight, with Lights and Mediums sprinkled in for too many matches.

The test server has its own forum subsection, and the test server schedule posting says they have all the test data they need regarding 12v12, and so today's test was canceled (I assume that is good news :-)
Devs: thanks for the update! Looking forward to the engine update and dx11, and it'll be nice to see some new weapons table stats, too. Lava map sounds cool... Hot... Whatever, and the Medium agility buffs and some more mission rewards will be much appreciated ;-).

everything else, things we already knew.
when you guys have REAL information, not vague terms, let us know, you know, if any of these "1 Million registered players" are actually still playing by the time you get it together...

Only the flea and Orion are left before the pheonix mechs october -> jan unless they decide to double up.
And seeing they are putting in a new engine I'd put smart money on Orion over Flea in August.

You knew of the three phases of CW?
That 3rd, 12v12, dx11, and a new engine update were coming in august?
That a tutorial (finally) is coming to the test server?
Are you a wizard? Or working for PGI.

Or...they are doing both. They've updated CryEngine in the past (closed beta I believe).
