If it is any other game company, I would have believed that they will implement what they said in the near future.

But this is PGI...

I would be happier if they really focused on fixing the hit-registration fail instead.

Over all I like the direction its going. The weight matching in games will be nice.

Yes. It would be the best if they fix this damn thing. It's getting worse for me and lots of people. Lasers doing no damage, and/or damaging during the last moment when the beam is fading... All ballistics hitting but no damage (even LBX)... SRMs doing nothing in one out of three shots... I don't care about convergence and the like. This is the worst mess that the game is suffering right now and it's making every person that I invite to test this to run out of this wonderful game that MechWarrior Online could be. It's getting sad and unenjoyable. Myself and I'm sure a lot of you guys and gals out there don't want to leave one of the most terrific and inmersive experiences this project represents. So, please dear developers and publishers, leave the art/right now unnecessary stuff and fix first the core technical aspects; hit detection/netcode, gameplay and balance will come on it's own way, along with your money and our satisfaction.

There has to be a common cause here for specific people. Hit registration still isn't perfect for ballistics with me, like always, but otherwise everything else isn't nearly as bad as you seem to have it. I've been killing lights going full speed with SRMs and lasers fairly often for example. I've been making sure to glance at the enemy damage model and numbers after using these weapons and they're definitely registering for me most of the time.

Yes, I know that this isn't for everyone. I know quite a lot of people that almost don't suffer from this issue. But there is a very big bunch that loves MechWarrior and can't do well because of this, and they just stop playing or leave. Not everyone has less than 50 ping or lives connected to the game's servers (jk of course).

Splitting the team in two is awesome, because we will hopefully have more iteration steps on weapon balancing. I really like that.

Secondly, I also like the idea of upping the rewards for capping bases. A game mode which is supposed to be centered around controlling bases is no good if capping bases is not rewarded massively. The game must make players to want to fight around these bases and do something with them. Only way to achieve that is by adding high rewards for doing so. I like!

as one of your earliest founders who still plays a lot every week, I have logged on in the middle of work just to express my displeasure at the continuing development towards the Third Person View.

I say NO to the third person external view.

I signed up for a Battletech simulator game. please remember your promises even as your non-hardcore battletech fanbase and wallet size rapidly grows.

goodwill is intangible but priceless.

I don't want to play it, but I don't really care if they add it now. More players isn't a bad thing, especially if you don't have to play that mode.

I could make a "non-straight" (other word is censored) marriage analogy here but it would be a bit of a stretch. The gist of it is just because me and you don't want to participate in it doesn't mean it shouldn't exist, especially when that's your only argument.

OR.... now hear me out on this people cause it may sound crazy. How about people just be happy there's a game for the MechWarrior universe that is this good and quit crying. This isn't always going to be a smooth process and it's about time people realize that. 'Merica

They had cap rewards previously, but took them out (I can't remember why? It was around the time assists were brought in to keep people from wigging out over having to get the last kill (or assists were made more valuable if they were already in).

Damn that seems forever ago.

Man, remember when there was only 1 mode?! What were we doing then. Still pretty amazing they couldn't figure out a 3rd mode after all this time.

Simple... why should we just be grateful that there is a 'mechwarrior' game out?

Has this entire game been smooth? Has it lived up to the promises? Has it captured the initial dreams that were the direction this game was going? Has it stuck to the 'Battletech Universe'? Most answers to any question on MWO is No. I play it because it fills in my FPS line-up, because I did play the original games and follow the lore and history of this universe. Am I impressed with MWO? Not in the slightest, mostly because their back-end processes on quality control, and testing are sub-par for the industry and their iteration rate on mechanics and the overall balance has been like watching a baby move from crawling to walking (falling on it's *** every attempt).

We'll see how long MWO keeps chugging away, but alot of the basic components, even their 'reworking' of core design elements (which should've been done in a closed beta stage) like UI2.0 should've been started long before open beta, because even CW is months behind schedule.

But the best part... is that there are other 'battletech' games in the making that are making much better improvements and strides in much less time, just watch the tactics videos of the public matches. Will we be beholden to PGI if we want to keep MWO alive? Nope, someone will mod it out like MW:LL did... now that was 'battletech universe' concept that was good, and it was a mod not a game in itself.

And can I ask why Innersphere News decides now to bump this week old Dev update... half of it is non-answer, no date content that we got from AtD's. Half the content is it'll be on the PTS at 'some' point.

Well, nice wall of text that could be easily condensed to "We give you a new map, and anything else is no ETA".

PGI guys seem to miss the fact we are not the same community we were a year ago. Back then we were fascinated with the seemingly earnest promises and detailed explanations. But time passed with the old schemes discarded, promises broken and the pillars fallen. We learned to read the ugly truth between the lines of your pompous posts. There wasn't a month passed without some big promises of the great SOON. But all we get is just maps and mechs. Maps and mechs.

Massive faction war over a map of hundreds of planets we were promised to get last winter. It never happened, but half a year later we have got an EIGHTH map! Oh hurray.

Edit: Some say we should be glad with what we get and enjoy the game as it is. This could be fair under one circumstance. If that was in line with what PGI tells us on regular basis. If they just said 'Guys, we have too little resources and skill and support to give you hopes for some massive features, all we can promise right now is just a few maps and couple dozens of mechs. You can only run around in these without any point and that's all for now. Maybe in some distant future with your support we will get closer to our dream of a large scale combats for territory and making this game adequate to BT fluff and timeline'. And you know what? Nobody would complain.

3rd person? well... i think ill be done playing when the corner camping cowards start holding a right arm guass/ac/20 around a building and not to mention being able to see over hills without even exposing an antenna. hopefully they will come to their senses. if not the rage on the forums will make them see the error in their ways

Everyone knows what 3pv means, and the rage on the forums is in full bloom, but, as you can see, PGI doesn't care a bit. They keep counting accounts, no matter how many old ones become inactive. They want casual gamers into their game, and as soon as 3pv comes live, the game will keep going towards the widest audience, stripping off everything that is difficult for some school children's comprehension. My guess it will become a totally arcade MechAssault 3 on xbox. If PGI guys think some other way, let us hear that, we are listening, but they'd better SHOW, as the time for listening is up long time ago.

I don't care what the haters say. Coming plans for august and MWO online are looking good. Balancing issues are to be expected. Keep it up PGI and bear in mind that haters are posting because the secretly care.
