Sure some of it we already knew but so what... At least they are keeping us in the loop. Should they just have kept the update to 2 or 3 lines about the topics never mentioned before?
This sounded like a great update to me.
More agile mediums... YAY! Fun Fun!
Better rewards for capping and more objectives for lighter mechs... YAY!
A responsible and careful slight increase in PPC/ERPPC heat. Could make all the difference... BIG YAY!
Adjusting Pulse Lasers for better viability... ABOUT TIME, and oh yeah YAY!

Is it really worth complaining about in the first place?
I think perhaps you misunderstand the level of dedication that many mechwarrior fans have to this franchise. How we have waited for a good chunk of the last decade for a new mechwarrior game to come out.
The reason that many folks are so loud, is because we believe in what Mechwarrior Online can be, and we feel it would be tragic for it to fail.
Ultimately, you are right, it's PGI's livlihood which is on the line, not ours.
But the reason people care so much, is because if this game fails, then we will not be able to play mechwarrior.
Perhaps that does not matter to you. But it matters to many of us.

A tertiary sub-objective for us, is to increase the kinds of rewards that are given for various types of gameplay, meaning, pilots will get more CB/XP for performing specific tasks that are ideal for the Medium and Light Mechs. Capturing a base can earn players more rewards the more frequently they do it in a given match.
So does this mean that light mechs will be encouraged to capture a base early in a battle when playing in Assault mode? If so I would like to have an open discussion about the actual roles the light and medium mechs have in the Battle Tech universe and have had in competitive play.

As for med's/lights, if we cant up the speed ceiling we need to widen the gap between the heavier chassis, with speed tweak as is it's far too easy to get a 70 tonner too close to medium speed with more of both armor and firepower. I get putting those kind of multipliers in is a good tool to be able to tune in a global way, so maybe it's time to turn it down slightly on both heavies/assualts and up slightly on lights/meds.

Still unhappy about 3PV. My absolutely biggest concern about the wellbeing of this game, this dealbreaker.

Nothing but worthless entitled comments.
If you don't like it leave. No one is forcing your hand anywhere.
I personally enjoy these little updates. Patience has its own reward.
Ok since you put it that way.
PGI, I'll buy Sarah's mech then I'm done. The hundreds of dollars I've already given you appears to have been a waste from the direction the is headed. At least the final 10 dollars will be for a good cause.

Looking forward to upcoming things. (Aside from 3pv..hoping that testing brings to light all the hideous flaws- or by some miracle puts the fears to rest.)
As for the inevitable immature slights from our most precious players...

Sometimes this community makes me not want to be part or it. The childish and immature behaviour these...childlike players display towards someone giving them something free is astounding. When has any big name AAA developer EVER told you what it is putting in a game, COD makes it, and like the last patch, puts in a fix, all without discussing with the community. At least here you get some info. Grow up for pete's sake.
Thanks Bryan and Paul, though we would like a few more details on CW and UI, it is still great to see the time table become more and more defined as we march closer to release. It is also good to see you working on things the community has brought up, such as drop weight limits. It will be nice to see a mixed class match be the norm. Much like my founder package, I am happy I purchased the OP package today. Let those who use it as a tool to threaten you with miss out on its perks. I would honestly stop the ability to purchase it right before you release info on CW, this way those that used it as said tool can not obtain these items ever.

Present rational arguments or take the whining to people who will listen, because no game developer - ever - has, or will, listen to over-emotional wind-baggery.
I appreciate the update, but I would like to know what August's BattleMech is, as well as when we can see drop weight-limits in place for matches; Assault Warrior: Online gets a bit dull, and these days, in order to be competitive, it's pretty much necessary to drop as heavy as possible in competitive 8-man settings. This needs fixing, and soon.

- 1M+ players
- Confirmation of Terra Therma for next patch
- 3PV to public test next week
- 3PV to be released in August
- Tutorials to be released in August
- Engine update in August
- DX11 in August
- LPL, MPL to be tuned
- (ER)PPC base heat increase by 1pt
I don`t understand why it is so hard to give just a little bit of additional information. I mean, we are the guys that actually play the game - not some investors that are looking for the money this game is producing. Unfortunately, this (and most other posts from Bryan) reads like a polititian`s speech (Everything is fine! We have a solution for everything! And here are some bananas!).
Let me give you some excamples of what I would expect to see:
- 3PV: Provide a screenshot how it will look like.
- Tutorials: Add some headwords of what the tutorials will cover and the future plans.
- Engine update: Is it just DX11? If yes, why add it as separate point? Also just add a few headwords on what it contains.
- LPL/MPL: How? What`s on your mind?
I hope it makes clear what I mean. All this shouldn`t create too much additional work and it would make us (assuming I can speak for everyone) feel a lot better.
Having all this said, let me add a quote about which I`m really sceptical:
Bryan Ekman, on 25 July 2013 - 12:57 PM, said:
Like UI 2.0, the community can expect detailed posts and reveals ahead of Community Warfare’s test server debut and final release.
(...)
My understanding is the following:
- "detailed post" = "explains something I didn`t understand"
- "reveal" = "something I didn`t know before"
I haven`t seen anything along those lines from Bryan the last couple of months (sorry for exaggerating but that`s how I feel). Release is scheduled to be in September (<2 months to go). I hope that I`m wrong, but my expectation is that Bryan will post something in these forums 1 week before release, after NGNG, PC Gamer and all the others already wrote some articles about it.
Since I hardly post in these forums (it feels like talking to a tree), I`ll go back to this habit, now. I really hope that you (Bryan + team) proof me to be a fool and make me dump more money in this great game. But I wish to see you acting a bit more active in regards to your community. After all, we also help finance this project and hence ensure your jobs. Have a look at Chris Roberts how he`s doing it. They are actively talking to their fans, combine it with some special offers and raise a s*** load of $$$ doing so. Wouldn`t that make PGI, IGP and the players happy all at the same point in time? Just think about it.
Will stick to my announcement, now. Going back into a dark hole and wait patiently 2 months for your next post.
Sincerely yours,
m4rTi
PS: I hope I didn`t put in too many typos. I`m not a native speaker.

If this game does fail, it will fail because you jerkoffs can't accept that things don't always have to go your way so you whine and cry and carry on. If I were PGI I'd stop giving updates at all, go ahead and leave, I assure you there are others ready to take your place in the MWO universe. You aren't indispensable by any stretch of the imagination and your little founders tags, contrary to what you may think, don't entitle you to act like little brats.
