Honestly, as a foaming at the mouth opponent of 3PV, the only solution I see as "acceptable" (beyond the absolute necessity to keep 1PV / 3PV separate) is if it takes like 30 seconds to transition from 1PV to 3PV to avoid the "Go 3PV, peek, return to 1PV fire" gimmick.

Again, the ability to look over and around obstacles is 99.9% of the resistance to 3PV, because of previous MW games.

For the love of all that is Battletech... lol

You're all a bunch of babies, its not their job to give you a play-by-play of every tiny little thing they do. They give us information they think is pertinent and ready.

+1 heat to PPC = <3
3RD = </3

Actually, that is precisely their job.

It's a developer/tester relationship, and a prime part of their job is to provide their testers with accurate and complete change data so we know what to test, and what is WAI.

Changing PPC heat by 1? Get real... it's the omni super weapon ruining the game (from the perspective of all the other weapons).

PPC speed needs to go back to around 800m/s.

Oh God, NO!

PPC's need to have good projectile speed.

Different from gauss, sure, to make PPC + Gauss a bit wonky. Fine.

Play with refire speed. Play with heat. Play with damage. Sure. But don't nerf the projectile speed as it makes no fracking sense for a particle weapon to have a slow "projectile!!!!"

Nope, it's not. Closed beta, sure. Open beta, nah. And definitely not in a released game (for those screaming IT'S NOT BETA!!1!). Open beta is used to get as many people as you can to hammer away at the system and with proper background logging tools provide telemetry (for the devs to analyze because they know the guts of the system) on how things work, don't work, and how changes interact with other game systems. Yes, granted, bug reports and comments, suggestions, criticism are appreciated, but you're delusional if you consider yourself a "tester" and not a "player" at this point (well, unless you have one of those squirrel bobbels... do you? DO YOU?!!).

Edit: clean up

Chances are, they're keeping a bunch of stuff unrevealed for the release, so there's something big for that. Then, the community warfare stuff, we'll not see anything substantial in that for a while. I can almost see the whining posts about "WOW! choosing faction allegiance was the big community warfare patch?!?!? another PGI lie/scam/steal/".

Proper development of complex features takes time. Not 1 month's worth of time, or 2, or even 6.
People said this exact same thing about Hellgate London.

Don't worry guys, they're keeping a bunch of stuff unrevealed for the day 1 patch. Keep the faith!

(/Knocks on wood)

I would rather not invoke a repeat of that fiasco please. Nice character design.... Good but buggy game interface. Nasty ramp up (felt almost like an exponential increase in difficulty) after the first two hubs. No support for it and no updates unless subbed. Game died after first update.

Please do not invoke that game.

Well at least we aren't going to have a buggy interface since they have been working on it for 8 months.

Define working....

All they had as late as a few months ago were mockups which makes no kind of sense given what they've said they been doing and what they've promised earlier. The only two options I can think about is either they were lying when giving deadlines for the UI or they are so incompetent that they have had to restart from scratch severeal times over.

Wishful thinking. PGI is already 6 months behind deadline. CW was supposed to be done by early spring. Its highly unlikely that theyre keeping a bunch of stuff unrevealed if they cant even keep the deadlines for the stuff theyve revealed.

So what happened to the other items planned for both testing and release by August? (such as DX11 or tutorials).

I second this. Mech warrior is, and has always been a Mech SIM. Adding 3rd person allows the player to remove themselves from the cockpit. It also breaks the game's Lore, which has a deep history.

That's why all the MW games had 3rd person ? , Don't post in this forums again , EVER!!

Yeah , they should be a group of proffesinal memebers working on a very profitable product here , and not only did they miss the deadline by a week or two (which still wouldnt be acceptable) they shifted it by a whole year ! , i mean its like they are taking this as a hobby . Ok lets buy a cryengine and hire some guys to turn these mech skitches to 3d models , now add some animation and make a website and Voilaa!! You have a game..... ok then guys we are going to take a vacation , need anything ?
When PGI addes a date it should keep it , not act like it was

All the MW games were primarily single player with after-thought MP. This is a dedicated MP game, so balance should be king. It didn't matter if you used 3PV to look around corners and spot the AI, because the AI doesn't expect the game to be fairly balanced.

Could we get these Creative Director updates pinned? Took me twenty minutes to dig this one up to reread what was said about CW. Thanks!
