I personally really like it! It's obviously in a state of being completed, but I especially love the right arm & AC 5 implementation from the old art transferred to the MWO style.
Solid work, as usual. That said, what does everyone think of the WIP here so far?

I agree, and hope to see more concepts of it in the future. I think the Wolverine is one of my favorite Medium 'Mechs out there. I have to say the Shadow Hawk is probably my favorite though.
It lends itself to an interesting discussion on what may be the same, and what may be different about the yet-to-be-fully-realized Wolverine Battlemech artwork. Great point though to be sure!
<S> Keep the discussion going!

Flat geometry is here to stay, not only is it FD's style, but it also helps withthe ammount of details a mech can bring with it (since round shapes take much more polygons to create and they have to keep them in some specific metric not to break the FPS whenever the mech appears on screen... altough things like Victors head are already round). On the other hand, with the shoulderpads, actually hand held weapon/s and such, it shouldn't come off like the generic brick on legs that Highlander, and to lesser extent Quickdraw, are.

See, I have to disagree here. The Highlander being my all time favorite 'mech since ye-ole-tabletop days not withstanding, I see them all as having vastly unique silhouettes in game and can tell the difference immediately even from distance.
The Highlander especially was knocked out of the park in terms of translating it from old BT artwork to MWO while still 'looking like' a Highlander in my view.
I am not saying your opinion is wrong, I just respectfully disagree with your opinion, sir. I like the similar style of 'mechs armor placement. It makes sense from my (all-be it limited) knowledge of how real world armor plating on vehicles works. Those 'rules' hold true no matter what you're trying to armor, so it makes sense that there would be similarities on major facings of armor.
Just my thoughts on that.

Yeah, that's what I mean, I just couldn't find the word for it. They are too generic. I'm not saying they are not looking nice, but they don't stand out as much as a Blackjack, Catapult, Hunchback or Raven etc...

I do love the AC5 re-interpretation though.

I'd say comparrison to what we see in this concept and what may likely be carried over from both the original unseen artwork, and the reseen artwork for starters.
I for one expect to see some minor alterations to the center torso, perhaps have the cockpit further widened a bit perhaps to differentiate it from the Shadowhawk's head. We'll see obviously. I just thought I'd offer a place to discuss the artwork, observations on what parts he's pulled from where on what we can see of the concept.
Figure it's better than some of the other discussions going on, at any rate.
<S> Thanks for the reply, good to see ya by the way Bishop. Be good man.

The Wolverine is from Fang of the Sun Dougram (the same source as the Shadow Hawk, Thunderbolt, and, BattleMaster); it does not necessarily indicate that we will get the Macross-based unseen (Marauder, Warhammer, etc) in the foreseeable future.
