Crashed to Desktop? Fatal Error? Frozen? Let us know what happened here!

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:
  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
  • What are your System specs? (You can include them in a [spoiler] [ /spoiler]
In some cases we've seen that deleting the shaders folder and relaunching the game will solve these crashes and related issues.

Simply delete the shaders folder located here by default:
C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders

Ok. From 10 played games with the new patch I had to kill the program in 4 of them with the task manager due to the game completely freezing.
Already listen as "memory leak after multiple matches" under your known issues, this problem is still not fixed after many weeks. I wonder if I even should report this bug any more, since it doesn't seem to reach the upper part of your priority list no matter how many times people report the bug still being in the game.

Right now, I am really annoyed and frustrated with the game. Instead of a fix for some major bugs, we got another map...
I am now joining the people who would rather like additional game content to be held back and bugs, balance issues and model re-sizing should be done before anything else.

I have not been able to finish a map since patch. The game shuts down a couple of minutes into the game, booting me back to the home screen in the user interface.

2 screen freezes. both occured while i watched directly to some effectful explosions. first in my own mech, shooting at a target on frozen city, the second while spectating, witnessing srms crashing into a jenner´s back, on forest colony.

i know of at least one friend who had the same issue in the same matches as me, shortly before or after me. (player is Rylena,if you need to know for the logs)

i have to add, that i never had that issue before.

The client froze after entering my first match today. Before the match started, I went into options to change my display settings, then the screen froze and turned black after minimizing the window then restoring it. I did not run the repair tool until after the crash, now everything seems fine.

I have run the repair tool, and even uninstalled/reinstalled/repatched, all to the same results.

I'm on Win7 Pro, I have full admin rights.

I have no crashes, but the game stops from time to time. Like a big 30 sec lag. And then continues as nothing has happend. I also feel preformance is a little worse with system slowdown when there are much smoke close by etc. I had both of these before the patch also.

Me too. appcrash and no playable game like BangCreosote. Also with win 7 64 bit and admin rights. Got a AMD six core CPU. Most people I spoke with this error work with a AMD CPU.

Have read the the error only occurs at pc´s with AMD CPU´s and AVAST on it. Have deinstalled AVAST and the game works!!!

Im also having the application crash. The alt+tab trick works only about 40% of the time for me to get the game unstuck.

Heavy freezing problems. First occurrence when I was in the settings menu. I tried to exit the settings and the game froze solid. Recent occurrence was during match start. Frozen solid, alt-tab to try and find out more, return to game and solid black screen with no motion. Both attempts resulted in each 'Mech being locked out until match end.

Side note: I've not really been able to play MWO, even though I deeply want to because of poor optimization with my system. I've been wanting to try and play but until recently I was barely able to get through the MechLab because of control lag.

fatal fozen as described above: I am mad enough "to punch babies right now" (figure of speech) I have gone though the memory links and updated drivers to no avail.

here is a repost of my issue


When i start the game, the patcher loads fine. after this, when i press play, the patcher minimizes, and a windows error message pops up. asking if i want to close the program, or check online for a solution. its the
same issue i see many people having. i submitted a ticket. its the same issue i was having with the 12v12 client. im gonna try uninstalling the test client. i have already tried the repair tool, and re installed the entire client.

hopefully there will be a solution soon.

EDIT:
after doing a fresh install of mwo, and deleting the test client, doing a fresh mwo install in another location on another drive, and a fresh install back on my SSD, i can say i have no idea what to do.

Seems like its an AMD issue. just gotta keep complaining til it gets fixed i guess, as it seems a lot of users are SOL
