I think this is going to be too huge even for 12v12.

I just played a match and didn't even see anyone. was wandering around for 8 minutes until a light of theirs just outcapped us.

I think we will find a way to play it. Base guarding and fast lights might have to be part of the game.

I did a test run and I enjoyed it a lot. I would have thought that the lava would increase heat faster and maybe do damage a little faster, but I think it's a great start. Of course, I'm no expert on Battlemech armor, so maybe lava wouldn't act any quicker than it is. It's nice to see the environment play a bigger role.

I don't like it.

I DON"T LIKE IT AT ALL.

It's WAY too dark, and it's way too light for NV and thermals is of course useless.

Increase the ambient lighting please.

It's so hard to see anything.

Most of the lava doesn't cause heat. I am disappoint.

Edit:

I do love the lighting effect on the mechs, truly awesome.

Sry, i like the map BUT

Lava is too much of a "nice gimmick", not a threat or something to really take care about... You guys could have been a bit more consequent with it imho. you can avoid it without any effort, and even if not, heat buildup is too slow. and with damage only applying to armor...well i guess i don´t have to say more... summary: nice optics and ambient... i´m a bit disappointed

looks like PGI was a bit too afraid of too much QQ

Its great, but the damage and heat you take from standing in lava needs to be increased (by at least a factor of 3).

I just ran across it in training to take a look with my spider. I agree, most of the lava is not a threat, so it seems you might find yourself drawn to the center arena type area. I did find one map bug though, located in C3 at 2858 5186 just southeast of the bridge crossing the lava. I get an OUT OF BOUNDS warning there, while I am clearly in bounds on either side of that location. Going to jump in the queue now and see how it plays when it comes up.

Found several problems already. Terrain collision mess-ups...broken or mis-aligned textures...invisible walls...

Invisible wall here in the center of the platform.

what a fantastic idea!! another overly hot map! combined with un Lore like heat penalties this should really help all the console players play this game for 2 weeks. and while I am sure this isn't the place for this, (but what the heck, you seem to enjoy tweaking us paying players for the sake of consolers who are waiting the next iteration of call of duty) how about adding something useful to the "hard core" MW/BT community, oh, I don't know, like a game lobby where we can drop against teams we've known and played MW/BT against for 20 years... nah, why do anything to keep folks who will play the game regardless of how much you blow us off since it is the only mech franchise available??? it certainly isn't enough that we can't drop with more than 4 of our friends without having to suffer through the screwed up ELO matching... suppose I'll just get off the complaint soap box now. suppose this post will most likely be deleted... but then I guess deleted would mean someone within pgi actually read it, so it wont be a total waste.... Disgusted in DC P~

I can confirm the out of bound warning in C3 on the Training Grounds. It only appears to pop up when you're below a certain elevation, between 170-175. You can go over the bridge in C3 just fine, but if you go down through the lava flow, it pops up.

CTF-3D
Stuck on ramps that looked like ramps but weren't actually:

4360.3924.480
3995.4152.478

First makes one route into centre (top) impassable without JJ's despite being simple roadway

to fast movement in lava, DMG go not fast enough. lava must be more danger.

My thoughts.

1. Lava should restrict movement, its not water afterall
2. IT HUGE. Spent ages running around in my Spider and didn't see a soul
3. I can confirm the odd terrains and invisible walls. Some areas you can hide in as a small mech.
4. Heat needs to be increased. You can pretty much ignore the lava flows and getting out of the middle via the lava flows is a viable route. In MW:LL, lava would pretty much blow you in 3 or so seconds.

I found the lighting to be fine, people saying tis too dark need to adjust their gamma settings. In assault mode its pretty much a cap race, in conquest, no light 'Mechs on your team is a guaranteed lose.

Overall, pretty map, game just isn't ready for it.
