Same for LRM. It should not be the launcher but total missiles.
Dumb PGI at it again.
Normal math: Set maximum missiles for heat penalty then apply the penalty when you fire more than that max.
PGI math = fail

however, i think applying heat penalty based on total missiles launched is better solution than some arbitrary launcher count..

SRM4 max is 4
SRM6 max is 3

Not only that but this penalty shows these devs don't even play this game. AT ALL.
Linking the missiles to an alpha max is absolute idiocy. Particularly for LRMs.
These weapons (LRM) have a 10+ second warning to the target, they TAKE 10 seconds to reach target, they can be shot down by AMS AND they require the player to purchase upgrades and modules to make its full LRM load as effective as a single PPC.
...and they put a gdamn heat penalty limit on it?
Just... fail. Bad, bad fail.

They have problem with finishing things. Start buffing MGs, give up. Start buffing LBX, give up. Start buffing flamers, give up. Start buffing pulse lasers, nerf them into the ground, give up for 2 months. Nerf streaks into the ground...?

Makes sense. But maybe the idea behind that is actual server performance limitation.
