Did it help with visual awareness as to the position of your torso to your legs?

There is no 'nil' answer for this question. The taller mechs: you can't SEE their legs, so no, it does not help with torso/leg positioning. Only when in my Jenner could I see my legs.

Overall impressions/criticisms.

I did not feel it gave any advantage to me, because the increased FoV was at the cost of the mini-map. I thought, at least, with the 3rd person view, I would be able to see what I was tripping over when I couldn't move, but not being able to see my feet...

Framerates appeared to stay steady enough, but my Jenner stuttered so much that if I had epilepsy, I'd be on the floor. It just HURT my eyes. And that was just running around.

I think that IF 3rd person had the ability to look around, then it would be a significant advantage. The way it is now is fine; but then again, I've been against 3rd person since the day I started playing this game. If a mech could turn it's head; and/or the ability to use a POV hat/rear view camera, well, I guess I figured that 3rd person would make a pilot omni-present. I'm glad that 3rd person is the way it is now. My only suggestion is, lower the camera angle so the feet can be seen. I understand the problem wtih this, though: the further back the camera, the greater the FOV. The only reason I'd want the ability to see my feet has only to do with new players, and it should only be allowed in the testing grounds; so a new player can learn to run one way and aim another.

Overall, I was not impressed with 3rd person, and I'm glad. It was a bad idea to start with, and a waste of resources that could be used to make the game better for all players: private matches/lobbies so the community could matchmake and play together. I'm looking forward to the day when PGI stops pi$$ing on the community and started to support them the way we have done so for so long in your grand experiment.

Which Mech(s) did you use for this test?
Jenner-D(S), Hunchback-4P, Blackjack-1X, Highlander-HM, Awesome-8R, Awesome-9M, Jagermech-DD, Jagermech-S, Catapult-K2, and Atlas-K
What improvements would you like to see with 3rd person view?
It would be nice if the camera would lower when the player's 'mech approached slopes and buildings to give a better view of one's legs.

Any additional comments or concerns.
None at this time.

B) #$%& 3rd person view. You have A map, Target Lock, and you can turn 360.

Next you will have Heal pots and Magic added to the game.
