Of course he does not. PGI should be holding players to the code of conduct laid out in the tos.
Of course you'd say that, when it was you that Chronojam pointed out was lying.

What an astonishingly dishonest response. You know as well as everyone else here that what you said was incorrect. Telling you you're wrong is not a personal insult - you're going to have to cope with that. However, you're just some guy. Garth is a voice of authority and he debased himself and undermined PGI when he came in here to post like an angry kid whose big brother owns the server.

E: Fixed

You're very funny. I agree with your statements on where the game is right now, but I don't think turning MWO into BT or Red Orchestra is the solution. Cone of fire most certainly is a nerf to aiming, there's no point in arguing against that.

Our mechs have specific separate hit boxes and the player's fast decisions over what they need to cut off their opponent is what makes a FPS like this great. I my opinion, the solution is to let it still be easy to disable equipment on your opponent, but very very hard to kill them outright. A large buff to internal structure would accomplish this naturally, making the game feel more strategic and brutal at the cost of being less snipey-tacticool. This would also have the nice effect of buffing brawling and making mechs that use hard points spread around the body more effective. Since PGI loves stock mechs so much, you'd think they'd go right for that.

Thank you for responding.
You are the first person to even offer a viable a thought out alternative to nerfing in a response to me.
My personal preference is Set distance convergence as a fix. you would not have the "randomness", alpha strikes would still be truly effective but only near the range where your cross-hair is "fixed" with shorter or longer ranges you would have to compensate for convergence and divergence.

Or, and this is a very radical concept, the sniper weapons just need to get balanced the way pinpoint sniper weapons are balanced in every other game: By having much lower dps (Usually thanks to a very slow rate of fire) than short range weapons or sustained DPS weapons.

That is entirely too complicated of a design mechanic for something that simple...

See what I did there? :/

What if instead we came up with some kind of faux-exponential heat penalty system that effects PPCs but not gauss, but only effects a couple of the less common stalker and highlander builds, and heavily penalizes LL, ML, LPL, and SRM users to a much greater extent than the snipers? Do you guys think that would reduce the sniping metagame?

Mechwarrior the RPG, the Mechwarrior books.I didn't get confused. My friends and I actually pulled out some old characters and played some MW last night. I am into the genre, so for those only into pc gaming I should have clarified that only in PC MW has there been PPA all other sources of MW and BT relied on either random hit or cone of fire.
So for you laymen change MW to BT in this statement

Mechwarrior The RPGs full tittle is "MechWarrior: The BattleTech Role Playing Game" My mistake I really should have specified that I was talking about Mechwarrior PC titles when I listed a bunch of PC games I see how That could cause confusion, Especially since Mechwarrior is primarily a PC title after all. And the fact that I didn't acknowledge that the Table top might use random chance that was so silly of me.[/color]

I have read a few Mechwarrior books, And you know now that i think of it I recall several parts in the books were a pilot would take careful aim at the center of a stationary mech and strike its left toe. Its all so clear now. I am sorry to have muddied the conversation with my poor research and recollection.

I'm sorry I'll let ya'll get back to bashing on that Mod rather than trying to explain that PC games should not be treated like table top.

Oh the noise on the island will die down, As our providers wont acknowledge its growing population and the air drops of food are getting more and more sparse. Soon we will all die off, except one who will get fat on our remains and praise PGI for the tiny food pallet delivered to him like mana from heaven. It will be bad food but it will be all he knows.

The dwindling supply of mechwarriors has been greatly exaggerated. In fact I am pretty sure its still growing.

Care to venture a theory as to why the players online counter was removed then? I would have thought UI changes like that would have been held onto for 2.0.

Cause numbers don't lie and PGI just couldn't stand it any longer.

Not all of us have the option to buy a graphics card (see my earlier post), and not all of us have computers that will ACCEPT a new graphics card (i.e. integrated only), so that'd require either a new motherboard or a new computer entirely. You show me someone willing to sell me a working computer for under $50 and I'll show you a liar. I know I sure as hell can't afford to shell out $1000 just to be able to play a PC game at decent framerate- I can't even afford to shell out $50, because my financial support got denied for this college semester, meaning next to all my reserve money got eaten paying for tuition, and bills/gas/food are collectively still a thing.
I'm quickly getting annoyed with all the "lol just buy a new graphics card it's cheap" comments I'm seeing (both here and in the IRC) because it's not that simple, and trying to pretend that it is is just foolish.

Sounds like you got more important problems than a graphics card.. Why don't you graduate and get a job and pay back all that money you borrowed before whining about a game you want to play. Just a suggestion.. don't get bent. The games is less important in my opinion.
