While I understand the issue of wanting more info right away, I just want to let you all know that we will release information when it's ready and not before then (no matter how it's asked for).

It was an unfortunate circumstance that we missed the deadline last Friday for Ask the Devs questions, and we apologize for the delay. It is in there that I had touched on the issue of the Gauss/PPC. That Ask the Devs will be posted no later than end of business day today. (Monday Aug 12.)

:golfclap: thanks for informing us that you guys are tripling down and staying the course with Ghost Heat: the Magnum Opus, for a second there I was terrified that anyone on the staff might have noticed that the "noise" hasn't died off and was planning on doing something in response to player feedback.

I think they might perceive the "noise" as having died down because many people have quit playing. I include myself in that number, farewell MWO, it was fun once upon a time.

Hey Paul, how about instead of making passive agressive jabs about how people are being too mean to you for making terrible balancing decisions you could at least aknowledge whether or not you are planning to take their feedback into account in the future?

Remember guys, the more time they spend answering your questions the less time they have implementing cool new features like ghost heat, 12v12 and 3PV.

Few companies take the bold move of promising opacity. I look forward to the next "leak" on paid programming "No Guts No Galaxy" anyhow.

Just to make things clear, the reason we're still posting even though we've spent the last half a year bitching about the state of the game isn't because we want to troll people. We're desperate for the game to be good. We like Mechwarrior games. There hasn't been one in ten years. That's why a bunch of us have big golden "I gave $120 to a completely unproven studio on the dream of a Mechwarrior game" badges under our names. What's more, the game has actually been very fun in earlier phases of its life, and it's so close to being there again and more but then you guys keep doubling down on out of touch design instead of listening to the people who play your game. That investment we have in the game is why we're sticking around, even if most of us have stopped actually playing the game. If Mechwarrior wasn't something we wanted to see happen so badly and this game wasn't so close to being the one we wanted, we would have wandered off to greener pastures long ago.

I also can't stress enough that this doesn't have to be adversarial. You want to make a good game. We want to play a good game. Eat the crow, let us help you make a good game happen, and we will love you for it. We'll all (re)buy our Phoenix packages, and then the Clan package that inevitably comes out down the line, and GhostHeatGate will just be a story we chuckle over about the game going through some growing pains.

Please, just work with us. It has been literally a decade, and everyone here wants to see this work.

That's why I still bother, despite it being implied I'm "on an island" and should "sit in the corner" and that it's all "noise" anyway when I still try hard to care about a game I believed in.

And despite being told that PGI will try even hard to avoid communication with us fans.

I can't quote this hard enough. Promoted on the front page of the game, the only podcast allowed access to development staff, and NGNG's guys are recompensed for work done on behalf of the publishers. And yet, it's still considered fan material? You want us to man up about the changes to the game that reinforce the current meta? Fine. Man up about who's getting paid.

The boating penalties for exceeding a particular amount of weapons of same category withing 0.5 second period introduced 3 patches ago and further expanded 2 patches ago.

Since you get penalized by an additional heat, hence the name.

I dont play as a sniper, and PPC/Guass combo has been around since the death of the K2, and if you nerf that, you can see a vast majority of people leaving this game, if they haven't already(i havent patched in at least 2 updates).

WE NEED BLOODY ROCK PAPER SCISSORS. You dont get it. There are counters to different builds, and you can't counter them all. IF you nerf everything to the bloody ground you have everyone running around with a piece of paper trying to paper cut each other to death. Yes this sounds like fun.

Like its been said a million times, if this was ANY OTHER franchise, we'd all have left half a year ago if not more. I'll go back to being "noise" and a small minority on my small island.
