I'm curious, who here experiencing a severe decrease in FPS, had great FPS during the 12v12 tests?

To reiterate, my computer ran like silk on the test server 12v12, but not this mainline version.

FPS have reduced greatly, more problems with hit-detection even at point blank distance ( you can shoot directly aiming precisly at enemy's CT and do no damage at all.. Someone suggested others to upgrade their pc's - for example, most of the time I'm playing on my notebook (because I'm travelling a lot), I see no reason to buy 5 or 6kg gaming notebook with less then 1 hour battery life just to play MWO. It's easier for me just to leave this project.

  • How had has the patch generally affected your performance?
Cut framerate in half. Dropped from 16 to 8 during a match, stays there consistently. Yes I know this is horrendously low, do not bother commenting on it; you're just being an inconsequential egotistical {Richard Cameron}. It was playable at 16, now it's just... impossible.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
During the startup sequence my framerate is fine, holding at around 30. The moment everyone starts moving is when it drops to 8. Had an interesting occurrence in the middle of a battle on RCN where the rendering hung for 15 seconds, then suddenly my framerate jumped to 30. I think my connection dropped briefly during this time, so I'm wondering if it's something in the netcode that's hurting the framerates.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Always on low. Have been since I joined in closed beta, will be until I get a new computer.
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
In-menu FPS is usually at 29-30, in-game was at 16.
  • System specs (You can include them in a spoiler tag)

  • Your advertised internet connection speed / Geographic location
6.5 Mbit down, 0.5 Mbit up. Colorado.

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:

How had the patch generally affected your performance?

I played with very little issue that wasn't covered by complaints in the previous patches. Now I can't play at all and that is no exageration. Just dropping in game is laggy beyond measure and as soon as I see any enemy mech and open fire, the game freezes.

Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.

Overall it's catastrophic, but the game actually freezes every time I engage the enemy. It unfreezes when the kill screen appears and my mech is a smoking heap on the ground.

What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?

Low setting with everything shut off same as during last patch.

Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS).

Previous patch, Ingame =26-30, menu = 40-50
Current patch. ingame = 0-6, menu = 30-32

  • - 15-40 now less than 1 refresh per second (F9 says 2.5)

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
It had made game play worse. My FPS is lower than it normally was, which was already low in game.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
Game start up is usually slow, sometimes skipping the mech start up animation altogether. In game, it gets slower to almost a complete stop on larger maps with multiple enemies in front of me. Too many firing effects going on for my connection/system I suppose but that should not be the case as even a minimum spec machine should have a playable experience, that's why there's a minimum.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
1280x1024 fullscreen, v-sync off, AA off, all graphic settings on low. Using most current GeForce drivers (320.49)

No settings have changed since last patch.

My FPS dropped from 25-30 to 10-15 with the patch. And that's after dropping the detail settings from medium to low to compensate.

I had an average fps of 45-50 in the last version @1680x1050 on the highest settings (except for AA). now i have 40 at best. that wouldn't be so bad, but I also get these "micro-freezes" now, fps dropping below 15 or it totally freezes for 1 or 2 seconds... and i get this all the time, no matter how low my settings are... it's unplayable! please fix this ASAP or you have lost another paying customer.

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
Lost nearly half of my fps during matches. Weirdly when I'm on the testing grounds I get 40 - 50 fps, in game 10 - 20.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
After dropping for a game
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Everything on low, but they make no difference. Normally I run AA on, textures/enviroment/effects/details on medium, which still gives me 40 fps on testmaps, just not in matches.

I'm getting about 20 fps less then I was before same as in the test server. Why was this allowed to go into effect knowing that most people would suffer such a severe performance hit? Please revert these changes until you can optimize the graphics!

This is weak. MWO was my favorite game before today (12v12 patch).

Now, it's going to sit here until this is fixed. It needs to run as smooth as it did before, or it's game over - permanently.

When can we expect a hotfix??

MUCH worse unfortunately, pings about the same.

Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
It stays relatively even since I dropped to low details.

What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
1920x1080, all low, AA off. Changed from medium with AA off. VSync on, but I guess it doesn't do anything now.

Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
Ping has not changed at all. FPS dropped significantly, weapons like PPCs, Gauss and LRMs look completely different now and are even hard to see so I dont always even notice whether I hit or not.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
It dropped everywere but especialy when looking in the direction of the major part of the map or when theres a lot action going on.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Everything medium, 1280x768 Fullscreen
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
Around 40-50 normal running around and dropping even lower when a lot of action is going on. It was never under 70 before that patch as far as I kept track of it.
  • System specs
Core I5 3750K, Geforce GTX 660 Ti, 8GB DDR3 1600; Already the med settings and non full HD resolution before the patch seemed very strange. Now its just unbelievable!
Win7 x64
  • Your advertised internet connection speed / Geographic location
16mbit DSL from Germany. No Ping issues so far though. 115 sounds normal to NA servers.

The frame drop was identical to what I encountered in the 12 vs. 12 Public Test. I knew I was going to see a loss in frames from the test and it happened in mainline. It's not a surprise just more disappointment.

It's not just the FPS drop, there's massive amounts of micro-stutter and shitloads of teleporting where your screen won't update correctly for a second or two and then you suddenly find you're facing the wrong way running into a wall.
